Just booked for Feb at FW during President's week! Any tips would be appreciated!!

I grew up going here as a kid and now I'm bringing my own kids 9,10 and 12. I am so excited!!!!

TIA

I don't have any tips but congrats on the new RV!! Hope you have a great trip!

When we stayed at WDW resorts we booked parks day everyday. When at The Fort there is so much to do there be sure and save a day or 2 to just enjoy The Fort.

Congrats! What did you get?

Stayed with DVC points last September....55 points for week premium site. I think you will get many pointers, but the one that I see spoken most often (and I think it is correct) is to remember to keep some day(s) aside to spend relaxing at the Fort. Lots to enjoy there, as you may very well remember. Good luck and have a great time planning and getting there! :thumbsup2

My advice would be to take the kids to the Campfire Singalong with Chip & Dale one night. A movie follows after the singalong. C&D work the crowd posing for pictures. It's fun and low key.

We hopefully will have the movie schedule posted around the first of February. That time of year the fires are lit sometime after 630pm, the singalong starts at 7pm, and the movie starts about 740pm. You can bring marshmallows and sticks to roast (lots of folks do) or buy supplies for that from the concession stand Chuck Wagon behind the bleachers.

If your kids are more adventurous, you can bring hot dogs, buns, and fixings and roast those too (we have) but it takes patience to cook a good fire dog.

The Fort is a place to relax on vacation - not a place to just sleep while you do the theme park kamikaze thing every day.

PS - the kids might also enjoy the Cast Member led activities in the afternoon by the Meadow Pool. Sometimes it's an athletic event in the field nearby; sometimes, it's something like hula hooping on the pool deck, and I think sometime on Sunday afternoon they do tie die shirts (a fee involved but it's neat - I did it as a grown up!). The schedule of events is given to you when you check in and usually posted outside the Comfort Stations.

PPS - here is the November movie/activities schedule just so you can see the type of movies and activities that will be available.

Thanks for all the great information. We were planning on spending most of our time enjoying FW and only going to MK one day. This is an impromptu trip. Looking to break her in...lol

We have a long standing WDW trip planned for April. Staying DVC.

Super excited for you! We just bought our dream RV and are beginning to plan our first FW visit Jan 2016 to celebrate my and my husbands 50th Birthdays!

Congrats! I have an 11 year old who just has his best trip ever to WDW (his words). My biggest three pieces of advice:
1. pack their bikes
2. bring plenty of cash for the arcades
3. plan to go to MK for rope drop at least one time during your trip
