I have gone back and forth and now made the decision. Got the discounted fall rate. Happy about that!! Any suggestions on room preferences, etc. Also, what kind of kids activities do they have? Thanks for any info you may provide!!

We love it there.. just make sure you don't book standard or most likely you will be looking over the service center... I think that place smells.. atleast it did when we were there... I would book woods or courtyard view.

Courtyard was only view available with the discount! WHEW~~ Any suggestions on asking for certain room/area?

GREAT.. I am so glad you booked courtyard! That is great.. I am sure you will love love it! Now.. try to request that you want the courtyard and not the villas pool.... I am not sure how to request it per say.. but I know its an option that they might put you at....

You and your daughter will love the Wilderness Lodge. It's an excellent resort with a great theme, but it just doesn't appeal to me since I live in Wisconsin and get to see "lodge" stuff all the time. :)

Here is a view of the geyser from our inner courtyard room 6039:

and the view from the room itself:

To look out a the main pool be sure to request the inner courtyard

The only thing that concerns me are the beds, are they comfy, and will the linens be changed there too by November? I know the Poly has new beds and i have a bad back. That is why i waited so long to make this ressie. My back gives me fits. What do you all think??

Well, don't know about the beds but DH always packs an eggcrate in his suitcase and says that that makes every bed a lot better. I have to agree, he does it whether we stay at the CR or the GF and he always sleeps well.

We were there in 5/07 with DS8 and DD5. They absolutely loved this resort. The pool was great and the hot tub was a hit. Roaring Forks is very close to pool and the kids could fill their mugs or use a snack credit on a ice cream bar. My son loved the boat to MK more than riding in the front of the monorail. We had a bunkbed room which is very fun.
If you ask for inner courtyard, end of southwing higher floors you can look down onto the pool, right to the geyser, and at night watch wishes over the other side of the hotel then look down to the lake and watch the electric boat parade. All of this from your balcony. My kids are forever spoiled!

My 7 year old loved it....the lobby...the bunnies thoughout the grounds...the totem pole outside the mercantile...the pool...it's a can't miss with kids as far as I'm concerned.

The beds were great. I sometimes have back problems but had no trouble there. Everything was refurb'ed a year ago, including the beds.

DS9 and DD6 had a blast at the pool, exploring the resort with me, watching the ducks/rabbits/armadillos, playing at the beach, staying in the Cubs' Den. The arcade was the only thing that was less than I expected.

You can also take the boat over to the campground (or walk on the nature trail). Lots to do over there too...movies, campfire sing along, marshmallow roast, etc.

If I knew I had three days left on this earth I would want them to be at WL.... Does that help???

The beds have always been comfy for me and I have a very bad back....

My Grandchildren LOVE the Lodge as well.....$ of them have been there and they all had a great time each time.

We had a Flat Screen TV, new furniture, new linens, Courtyard view, what was not to like??? It was a May trip. Oh, I had a code!!!:rotfl2:

I was able to get an AP rate for the room. We really don't need the bunkbeds as its just two of us. Just happy to be staying there!

We absolutely LOVE   the WL. The last time we stayed at POFQ (stayed there only because the extended family wanted to) when we went to WCC my DS (5 at the time) asked us why we weren't staying at the "lincoln log place". It is really beautiful and the short boat ride to the MK is a huge bonus for us. The last time we stayed there (has been almost a year since the WL  ) the beds didn't bother my back and I have a very bad back. If you go during the holiday (after Thanksgiving) the WL takes on a even more magical feeling to it with the gorgeous decorations. Have I mentioned that we love it? :cloud9:

Enjoy!
