Just booked Southwest last minute cheaper to call

We just booked flights for Oct 24, had to wait due to my son's school schedule. He is shooting a movie And had to wait for dates.

I tried the web site and was quoted 897.00, so tried the phone and bingo. Same flights, same days & times only on the phone total was 711.00.

I can't believe the difference 186.00.

So sometimes it pays to call and compare.

The same timefame ( I am assuming 10/24-10/31)from PVD to Tampa would have cost 529.50 for the three of you.
And, if you wanted to play with times to MCO it would cost you 645.00.

Gail, as I said my son is shooting a movie so his schedule played this trip. The time it takes to drive from Tampa to Orlando and back are not worth the savings(which would be half eaten by gas money) - to us anyway. And no the dates you list are not correct.

I know we paid more than we had to but I was just pointing out -don't always assume the internet is the best. Do some calling also.

Sorry for trying to help. And, just an FYI, the trip from Tampa to WDW is about 1 hour 15 min. and would be approx. 3 gallons of gas @ 1.59 a gallon.

Not sure about SW but with some airlines the internet will show the lowest fare that's available FOR ALL MEMBERS OF YOUR PARTY. Did all members of your party get the same fare?

DH & I went "home" for four days to celebrate our 15th and on our way home at MCO I asked at SW customer relations if they would happen to have an earlier flight when we were bringing the family"home" in Nov. The man checked and said NO WAY! I asked if they would be adding anymore flights and the answer was NO WAY!
A day and a half later I had to call SW and add a rapid reward and asked if by chance there was an additional flight and was told OH YES! It was cheaper! Go figure?

Yep we all got the same fare.


It just amazes me that I can call airlines, rental cars and hotels and get 5 different answers for the same question.
