Just booked our first Universal visit!

It is official. We are breaking down and going to Universal. After more than 2 dozen visits to WDW, I will be making my first visit to Universal this summer with my family. My daughter (and DW and I) really want to see the new Harry Potter section as well as finally see the rest of the parks.

I just made a hotel reservation for one night at Royal Pacific so we would have express passes during our visit. We will be in the area for 2 week August in a rental property in Kissimmee. The night at Universal will overlap our other rental so we will just pack an overnight bag and stay in the hotel and then go back to the house the next day.

I was able to get the AAA rate (which I learned about here). That was $197 instead of $246 so thanks for saving me $49. I plan to get park tickets at MouseSavers.com as that is the best rate I've found (unless anyone has a better suggestion).

Can you please explain how to buy tickets through MouseSavers? I went to the website but don't see a link to buy tickets, just explanations of where might be a good place too look for them.

I think to get some of the Universal and Disney discounts you need to sign up for their newsletter. Then you will get a monthly newsletter with links to special discounts.

Yep. That's the deal. Their rates are only for their newsletter recipients but it is free to sign up and they send out all kinds of Disney news updates along with the discount offers.
