Just booked our first cruise on Wonder! Hotel and transportation advice please....

We are booked on the Wonder in April out of Miami, but are flying into Fort Lauderdale the night before. Do you think it's necessary to rent a car, or is there a nearby hotel (any you would suggest?) and another transportation option to the port? We are a family of six. Thanks for any and all help!

We are sailing on the Wonder out of Miami the end of February, and are also flying in to Fort Lauderdale (FLL). We booked Quality Limo Service (QLS) from FLL airport to hotel (Holiday Inn-Port of Miami), we'll take a cab from the hotel to port in the morning, and have QLS booked from port back to Miami airport for our departure flight. We are a party of 6 also (2 families) and it is $75 for the first transportation leg for all 6 of us, and $54 for the second leg (both are the shared shuttle option, tip is not included). I thought this was very reasonable.

The option we chose was to stay near the Fort Lauderdale airport took the courtesy van back to the airport in the morning and took SAS shuttle ( www.ridesas.com ) round-trip to the port. I found the hotels in Fort Lauderdale cheaper and It looks like it would cost you $13 per person each way by shuttle.
