I'm so excited. We've talked about going to Disney for over a year now and never had the money; however, Saturday nite we found R/T airfare from Harrisburg, PA to Orlando on Delta for 65/person and half price for the almost 3 year old. And with the new prices at Disney we decided what the heck lets go in February for DD2's third Birthday. She loves doggies so we even got the Dalmation hotel in ASMo. So final trip cost is:

February 14-18 5 days/4 nites.................$1156 plus food and souvies

1 AP to save on room (and to con fiance into taking us again at Christmas ) 420
1 5 day MYW w/ Park hopping 235
1 Dalmation Room for 4 nites w/ AP code 221
R/T transfer thru happy limo 100+tip
2 Adults and 1 2 yr old on Delta R/T 180

Does this sound pretty good? Anyone know what type of clothing will be good to pack? LOL I will probably have all the suitcases packed 3 weeks early. Last question I can think of is will it be alright temperatures to check out Blizzard Beach for a couple hours? Thanks in advance to any replies.

You will be at WDW when we are! Congratulations on your cheap trip! I LOVE to save money, so I am impressed with your planning!

I too am interested in the weather during that week. We also want to go to Blizzard Beach for a day.

Have a great trip!

I LOVE last minute trips. We've done the conceive the idea and plan in under 30 days a few times now. I'm really no good at waiting it out.

In 2002 we went the 2nd week of February. It was really dry for our 8 days. The daytime highs only reached over 70 once. Most of the time it was close to 65. At night it got really cool-- around 45-50. I mostly wore capri's, tee's w/ sweatshirts to layer w/ at night. It turned out to be really great weather for park touring in, but not good for swimming.

Did you consider a 10 MYW ticket with the non-expire option?

It may be too late now anyway, but if my math is right (and you convince you future hubby to go again) it would cost you $117 for your tickets for your next trip (assuming another 5 day trip) on the ap.

Anyway, the reason I was posting is to let you know when you check in they will not automatically put you in the dalmation building... Trust me! We were lucky enough to go for 3 straight years (feb, feb, jan. you picked a great time to go!!!) We stayed at the All Stars all 3 times. When you check in they will just take your information and then type for a while... then next thing they will say to you is... "ok your in ____ building, room number ____" and at that point you have to tell they "I'm sorry we wanted the dalmation building" and they will start all over and try to (and most likely) get you into that building. So if you remember just mention it (and make sure they heard you) and possibly save yourself a little trouble.

I hope you have a wonderful trip!!!

We went last year the last week of Feb and the weather was awesome. Average temp was 72 for the 8 days we spent there and the crowds are definatlely down as well.

I agree, the ten day non exp. is the way to go. we are going down for 8 days, but only plan to go to the parks 3-5 days, but its worth the "discount" of buying the non exp, ten day ticket. plus you never know when they will raise the rates. at least this locks you in for a couple trips.

Nice Budget. Did you look into the DDE? I know with a young child it might be hard to do sitdown dinners, but just wanted to throw that out ther because you are planning 2 trips this year. Hoping you have a great trip!!! Just don't for get the tips...they can add up (I know your Happy Limo tip is included).

It's Delta for the airline but I believe he is using some sort of business discount.

The reason we are going with the AP however is because of all the sit-downs we do with the new DDE Card the savings is great and I have now convinced him into a Right after Thanksgiving trip to see the decorations and another February trip before the AP runs out. Also, we would most likely stay at a deluxe trip the next time and hopefully there will be AP Codes which would save money. The reason we went with the 5 day ticket for him is when we go in November he will get his AP so we can spread the cost out. Instead of paying 840 now and then 600something to renew them at the same time we can pay 300something once in February and once in November. I dont know I'm not understanding myself right now.

Have a great time basoongirl I hope the weather works out for us. *fingers are crossed and knocking on wood*

Disney will be using the biometric finger scans with the new MYW passes. It's what they've been using for years to prevent APs from being shared. If you sell the used passes, the fingerscan of your buyer will not match any of those in your party. Unless the buyer can somehow prove that she is you, they will not be able to use your passes.

Let me tell you again you picked a great time to go with a two year old! We did the same thing a couple of years ago, last min. Feb trip, with a kid just under the (3yo) wire. I started looking at the internet just to gather information for a trip a few years down the line, and when I read how inexpensive it was to go in the early part of the year and that my kids (2 and 1 at the time) would be free I jumped at the chance to go. The hours are shorter because they parks are less crowded, but that's fine you've got a two year old with you. There are pratically no waits for the rides, that's great because again you have a two year old with you. If you want to do something that will be a highlight of your trip (and much harder to do in peak season) co-pilot the monorail. We did it once on trip two years ago, then read that it's even better to do it on the trip from mk to epcot so we did that last year. It's very cool.

Sounds like a great deal. Just to let you know, we are going to Disney Jan 31-5 and found a rental car through Dollar.com for the entire time for 125.00(intermediate size with all the taxes and fees). The discount rate code is RWUD3. Only a little bit more than the limo transport and you then have a car for your trip. Have fun. Lynda

We were there last year for the first week in Feb. We spent one day at the water park with our almost 3 year old and 5 year old. We had a great time and the weather was perfect! Have a wonderful time!

Lynda-
Thanks for the tip wish we could do the rental thing, but I don't turn 25 for another month and a half after the trip. They charge you a fortune if you are under 25. Makes me wonder just how much is the driving difference between a 21 yr old and a 25 yr old. 21 allows you to do just about anything except rent a car. Bummer!

We went last year in February the week leading up to President's Day weekend - which looks like when you are going as well.

First day we were there it was very cold. We all wore our winter coats (we had driven from NJ left in 20 degree weather) and even had to by DD gloves at the park. ($5 in AK) But for the rest of the week it was very warm and we could swim.

One note though - the beginning of the week the parks were relatively empty. Walk ons for many rides. But by Thursday and Friday the parks were much much busier with president's day weekend crowds. Not so back as to make me not want to be there, but some of the more popular attractions had significant wait times (45 min for Small World!?!) My advice is to do the MUST SEE stuff in the beginning of the week and count Friday for the go back and do the other stuff. It was nice on Friday to walk around the MK without stressing because we already had done a good bit of it, and we had a list of the few things we missed and the stuff we wanted to do again.

Have a great time!

How did you get your room so cheap at the last minute? What code did you use?
