UEA is October 17 & 18, but I checked several different school district calenders and not all of Utah has it off. Some districts have a fall break the week before. Plenty of school districts do have it off, but it's not the whole state.

Just wondering...where did you find such a great rate? Everywhere I looked was more like 100/night. I'm going in August during the summer crowd, so I'm sure rates are a little higher, but I'm curious for maybe a future visit.

See *here* it is possible for dates to be added last minute; mid July 2009 I got the rate on a Mon for the following Tue & Wed *so the next 2 days. I called in *it hadn't shown up on their board, always call the local # 714-776-6120 during business hours, ask for in house reservations.
