I just booked for 7 days 6 days Nov 20 to Nov 26th. We are going stay at Port Orleans Riverside.
2 Adults and 2 kids Boy 7 and Girl 3

We are doing the Girls bday at disney. We plan to do the princess dinner too. The boy is just wanting to see lego more than anything.

The lady on the phone tried to sell me on a dining plan for the family told her I would think about it.

I am not sure if its worth the 647.76 that she told me. My son and daughter are not big eaters at all..

We are driving down too so I figure we can go off park some to eat.

What are your suggestions.

Is this your first visit? If so, I think you might be shocked at the price of food down there. The price she quoted sounds high without perspective. The princess dinner alone will cost $150-200 depending on how many in your party will be attending (it'll take two table service credits, BTW).

I suggest checking out the menus to get an idea of prices. I think it's generally easier to do the dining plan if you're a first time visitor.

Good luck in your decision! :)

You might want to think about doing the Quick Service Plan. The parks will be pretty busy that week so you won't want to spend a lot of time eating table service.

Actually I have went one time for our wedding anniversary. But that was back when we had no children and didn't look to much for prices on stuff.

This is my wifes 4th time.

Our first visit we didn't do the dining plan because we also drove down and figured we'd eat offsite. It doesn't really happen that way. There is so much to see and do that we ended up not wanting to leave "just to eat" so we ate at the parks. 2nd trip - we did the meal plan. Definitely check out some menus in advance online here to help you estimate what you may spend. If you do character meals, you'll save a lot by the dining plan because 1 day on the dining plan for a child is cheaper than 1 character meal, for adults the dining plan for the day is only a few dollars more than the meal (especially dinner). You should check the Dining Plan forum for options/information.

Thinks for the link I was looking at the dining plans I think the 1 quick 1 table and 1 snack will work for us. Just for the savings on the princess and character meals.

I will have to start figuring out where we are going to eat so i can make ADR's

Do you think the princess meal is better in the breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Do you plan out all your eating before you go... I read that you can do ADR's 180 days out is it better to get them in that quick?

Since your kids don't eat that much I would go to allears.net get the menu's and base the meals on what you and your wife would like to eat. There is usually something for kids at all the meals that they will like and you can always do the standards like mac/cheese, fruit, etc...

The best way to look at this is that the food is not what you are paying for, it is the memory. As a mom, the thought of being able to just order what I wanted rather than ordering so the kids could eat off my plate was such a relief. It's pre-paid, so no doing quick mom math in my head. Don't forget to budget in tips...

Enjoy your trip.

You are going at one of the busiest weeks of the year - I'd definitely book 180 for all of my meals. You can always cancel.

There are two "princess" meals. You can eat at Cinderella's Royal Table. If on the dining plan, that would count as 2 TS credits regardless of which meal you choose (but the tip is included). During breakfast and lunch, you see Cinderella before going upstairs to the dining room. In the dining room, there is a rotation of four more princesses who come to the table.

During dinner, the mice and Fairy Godmother do a little show, but they don't come around for autographs (you can get a quick photo).

At Cinderella's Royal Table, the meal is selected off a very limited menu. Girls get magic wands and boys get swords that say Cinderella's Royal Table on them.

There is also a princess meal in Norway in Epcot. It is called Askerhaus. They serve breakfast (American food) and lunch & dinner (Norwegian food). The meal is partly family style with a small buffet as well. It is less expensive and counts as 1 TS credit if using the dining plan (tip is not included). Here, you will meet a princess for a photo (we saw Belle) before you are seated. Then there will be other princesses that rotate through (about four more).

At both places for each meal, when you meet the princess who is greeting people before you sit down, you get a photo taken with them. The picture package is included in the price of the meal and the photos are brought to your table before you leave. You get one photo package for every 4 people ages 3 & up.
