As the title suggests, I have just booked Mama Melrose for our Easter trip :cool1: We didn't go to Fantasmic in August as we had been many times and didn't fancy sitting out in the rain should the weather turn, also missed my chance to get package tickets too....

I have told DH that I have booked it but I don't get much feedback :lmao: whereas I am super excited  We really enjoyed our meal at MM last Easter so hoping it will be as good this time....

DH has become very disillusioned with Disney meals as we had a couple of 'disasters' on our August trip. We had already had a 'bad' meal at Outback steakhouse, everything was way too salty for us and so when we went to Le Cellier (which I was REALLY looking forward to) and again the meal was pretty salty, that was a disaster for DH especially given the prices :scared1:

Then we had a meal at the Garden Grill, our girls were super excited to see Pluto but food wise DH was NOT impressed, neither were the girls and I was pretty much the only one who ate anything :rolleyes1

Anyway, this wasn't supposed to be a moan!!!!! Roll on Easter :woohoo::banana:

Bye for now.

Great to hear that you are happy enough with things that you are booking again :goodvibes

I have been pricing up next year with the free DDP but one of the things holding me back is the amount of negative reports across these boards - especially at this time of year when there are a lot of people there for the free dining.
I will keep checking back between now and the deadline day and if the reports are in the main good I may end up booking :confused3

Ooooooo don't like to think I have put anyone off, just reporting back our experience :goodvibes

By all accounts (as far as I was aware) both Le Cellier and GG have good feedback. I also should say that my DH is pretty fussy but equally for the money involved (we have never been on the DDP) Le Cellier was disappointing and yet I am sure most of the feedback on here has been positive. We had beautiful steaks at the Longhorn steakhouse :thumbsup2

As for the GG, again I will will eat most things or at least give them a try whereas DH is more 'childlike' (:lmao:) and if he doesn't like the look of something he just won't try it :lmao:

I did check the menus before booking and they read ok but as I say we were disappointed with both...... I have also read that you shouldn't judge a restaurant on one experience which I agree with but I think I would have a very hard time convincing DH to go back to either :lmao:

lucky you.
we ate at MM in August and i loved the food there. :)
Bit full up for dessert though. :rotfl:

I know what you mean about having one bad experience.
we had a bad experience at CG and now my son and husband refuse to go back there. Im starting to lean towards trying again-after all the Contemporary is the hotel we usually stay at. will have to work on them both in time for our next holiday. :rotfl2:

And this proves the point that we can't judge on one experience as our meal at the CG last Easter was wonderful (if a little expensive though!!!)....

Not sure we will have such an easy time convincing our OH's :lmao:
