It wasn't easy but we just booked 6 nights from December 11 - 17 at SSR in a studio. Anyone with experience and advice about when to go to
MVMCP or any other suggestions/advice about this time of year at Disney. I will be travelling with my husband and two daughters (ages 7 & 9). We have all been several times before but this is our first time at SSR and at Christmas time.
Howdy Neighbor! DH and I are in a 1br at SSR 12/12-12/20!! We requested Congress Park (DTD view). SSR is amazing and while it's big, it's not as bad as it seems on the map! Disney magic is in full force this time of year and there is a TON of stuff to see and do!
MVMCP is awesome. Low crowds, walk on rides and amazing shows and fireworks, not to mention some great character meet and greets. We're actually going 2 nights this trip on 12/14 and 12/18.
If you enjoy the Christmas story, don't miss the Candlelight Processional. It's over at Epcot and I strongly recommend the dinner package. It's several hours of waiting and hoping to get a seat if you don't. If you're on
DDP, it's one TS credit. It's a 50 piece orchestra, 300 member choir and celebrity narrator and is absolutely amazing. There is also a tree lighting ceremony at Epcot every night at the WS entrance. WS (even if it's not everyone's fave) is also amazing at Christmas. Each country has its own traditions and it's amazing!
Over at HS, don't miss the Osborne (not Ozzy...

) Family lights on the backlot. Over 5 million lights and it's unbelieveable. Take the video camera, even a good digital camera doesn't do it justice!
MK has MVMCP which is amazing. I can't wait to see the castle lights. We saw it on tv last year and I sat and cried because I wasn't there!
AK changes the parade up to be more festive, but there really isn't anything "extra" at AK.
The decorations resort-wide are breathtaking! I would also suggest spending some time checking out the lobbies at BWV, BCV, GF, Poly and AKV. They have amazing food displays..BCV has a chocolate carosel, the gingerbread house is over at GF. Also....if you plan to bring a gingerbread house home (I did 2 years ago and plan to again this year) purchase it at BCV. They are $75 at GR and $25 at BCV and are the exact same thing!!
There is also a backstage yuletide tour but I'm pretty sure guests have to be at least 16 to participate.
Hope to see you there!!
