We just booked Comfort Suites on 5/13/02 for $157.00 We were originally going to go on the Blue Lagoon excursion, but for the extra $50 are thrilled to be able to spend the day using Atlantis' amenities. I'm looking for help deciding the best way to spend the day. Planning on going to the pools and getting a spot first, can anyone tell me about the beach? Can we snorkel there? Where can we get a cheap lunch? I'm basically looking for help with planning our day, we want to make the best use of the time we have there. I don't want to waste alot of time wandering around aimlessly with 2 kids and Grandma. We have late dinner seating, so plan on spending the whole day at Atlantis. Hope it's worth it!! Any advice would be appreciated!! Sue

Where did you call to get this deal.........on the Comfort suites.....I am interested in also doing this but dont know how to go about this

We just got back and rented a room at the CS. We left the ship as soon as we could - around 9:15 and took a motor taxi to CS ($20) for the four of us. We checked in and went to the room to change and walked over to Atlantis. My wife was stopped in Atlantis because she was wearing a bikini and needed to cover up before the security guard would let us in. They also asked to see our keys from CS about three times while walking to the pools. We arrived about 10:30 and there were no chairs anywhere in site, all had been reserved. So we just plopped down on someone elses stuff. We did not go to the beach areas because it was quite windy that day. I ordered room service from the ship and ice and packed it in our cooler for lunch. We bought water at Atlantis - only $5 a bottle. I would imagine the lunch selections would be VERY costly there.

Spent the day on the water slides and pools. The owners of the chairs did arrive and we moved, but by that time it was 1:00 PM and many chairs were opened. The pools close at 5:30 and signs stated that no one was permitted to swim after this.

Atlantis itself is not a place known for bargains. For a cheap lunch, your best bet is to pack a picnic lunch from the ship.

I got this rate off of the internet, at Comfort Suites own website, and asked for the AAA discount, as we are members. Also, I called my TA at AAA and she confirmed that $157 was the AAA rate for 5/13/02. I called CS directly to see if there was a lower rate avail., and they quoted me $220 plus taxes and fees for the same day!!! Just for kicks, I called Atlantis direct to see what their lowest rate was for that day - $$295!!!! ouch. Glad we got the $157, I am comfortable paying that for 4 of us to spend the day at Atlantis. Good Luck, Sue

we did the Comfort Suites/ Atlantis thing in December. We didn't have any trouble getting seats by any of the pools, but I'm sure that varies with time of year. The beach was closed to swimming because of the wind and surf. The water slides are pretty neat - especially the one that ends up in a clear tube underwater in a shark tank.

Food is expensive - small lunch for a family of four was about $35. Best bet was the conch salad for $8 - not very big, but yummy.

Would definitely do it again, but would probably bring a box lunch from the ship!

Also found that getting a bargain on a taxi from the dock is easier than getting one going back (more competition is the reason I'm sure!)

We just booked Comfort Suites for $157.00 AAA also. We go in October and decided to go ahead and book since we have 48 hours to cancel. We went to Atlantis in January, but didn't book a room so we had limited access. The Resort is so beautiful. I can't wait to be able to look outside and use the pools. We plan on taking a change of clothes with us so we can shower in the hotel room before coming back to the ship. We are also going to take a soft cooler with us that we can pack with lunch items to eat while at Atlantis. We ate lunch there last year in the restaurant across from the Casino. A hamburger & Fries and Fish & Chips (plus tea and Coke) cost us over $40.00.
