So excited! I got up at 1am my time (Aus) and booked my 6 year old daughter into the Boutique for our trip in Dec. I am thinking of getting the Castle Package for her. Please let me know if you've done this with your kids and what you thought

The little peanut, DGD, was five when we did this. She LOVED it, and so did her nanna. We brought her own Cinderella dress. I don't remember what the package was called but it was the "middle of the road" one and just right for us. She got make, facial jewels, glitter, a sash, special brush, nail polish and lip gloss. We may have paid extra for the crown, I can't remember.

We had the photo pass plus so they took lots of pics, we took our own too. I've heard that photo pass isn't at BBB anymore. She stayed dressed up until we closed the park that evening. Cast members were calling her little princess all day, she just "ate it up". It truly was worth the money for me to do this for her. She and I had a ball!

Yeah that is so exciting .... I remember making our reservations last year, also from Australia. My daughter then 10 did the Castle Package and her twin brother did the Knights Package. My thoughts were we were already spending so much on the trip worrying over the price difference of the different packages didn't make sense and I wanted her to have the most memorable experience. I didn't regret it - so if it is in your budget go for it.

My daughter was very excited to do it. She chose Snow White's dress. You can see her face beaming while she was having her make-over done. Then off to the room for her photos with the 'animals' and Cinderella's carriage. Then a short wait for a CM to become available to walk us over to Fantasy Faire for her skip the line meeting of the Princesses. The Princesses she we met were Snow White, Cinderella and Ariel. The Princesses were just wonderful and made her meetings with them lots of fun. Snow White taught her how to spin and swirl her skirt - fun photos of them twirling together. We didn't feel rushed with the Princesses and were able to have multiple photos taken e.g. daughter alone, then twin brother jumping in, mum jumping in with daughter etc.

I'm sure your daughter will love it and as a mum you will be bursting with happiness watcher her.

It's definitely a blast for kids! My girl has done it twice. The first time was the full blown everything package. I'm not if the pictures I received where a part of the package or not, but I ended up w/ photos. I didn't do the photo shoot the second time. All I have to say is to be mentally prepared to find glitter encrusted onto your child's scalp for months! lol, I swear I think I saw some glitter in her hair the following year.... We just came home from our trip, and my girl said she wanted to do it on our next trip.

No the PhotoPass photographers aren't there during the makeover to take photos anymore. So just make sure to take plenty yourself. The Castle Package has the photo shoot included - If you choose a cheaper package you can pay extra for the photo opportunity.

If we don't do the Castle Package but we have Photo Pass+ can we do the photo shoot after?

We did the castle package for our 6 y/o on our last trip. Her dresses were looking pretty worn from playing and she wanted a new one, so we figured we'd just go for it.

It was a fun experience. She was a little sleepy through the makeover part so not very enthusiastic, but she really loved the photo shoot. The photographer we had was amazing at making the girls feel special. For each pose she'd line up her shot, take one, then invite me to get the same shot with my camera.

It also was nice being escorted to the front of the princess meet and greet line. The regular wait was probably only 30 min, but it still saved us a little time. Plus she enjoyed the attention of the page walking us over and getting to line cut. I think it's definitely worth it to do the big package at least once.

Thanks to everyone for posting - I'm really glad I decided to do the Castle Package.

Just one question is how long does it normally take?? I was thinking of making lunch reservations afterwards

It can take a bit of time - I'm not positive but I would say about 90 minutes when you arrive and check-in there could be a bit of a wait for your Fairy God-Mother, if changing into a dress there time for that, then the makeover this can depend on hairstyle chosen and how much hair your daughter has (mine has lots of long thick hair lol), make-up, nail painting, the reveal then a potential wait for the photos with Cinderella's carriage, then a short wait for a CM to escort you to Fantasy Faire, and a possible few minutes wait to clear the way for the new Princess to be introduced, then just the time you spend with each Princess (there are 3 in Fantasy Faire - we met Snow White, Cinderella and Ariel).

I don't believe your photo pass+ is enough to get the photo shoot with the Cinderella Carriage - it is an add on cost to one of the cheaper make-over options - I'm not sure of price but I remember reading it wasn't that expensive. However if you have the photo pass+ they will scan it and all the photos taken will be on there for you in addition to the ones they print out in the souvenir frame.

We have done the castle package twice now and my daughter has absolutely loved it! This time, it seemed the dress came with more things-- tiara and a wand included. This last time, it only took about 45 min for the makeover at most and then waiting in small chunks of time for the photo shoot with props and then waiting for the royal hall meet and greet with princesses. Honestly, it was a great deal for the money, at the very least to save on waiting time for the Royal hall princess meet and greet (even 30 min wait is a long one when its hot and you want to do other things, IMO)

My daughter did this years ago when it first opened. She loved it. She wouldn't let us take her hair down and wash it or go in the pool for the rest of our trip, and it stayed. Every morning I had to put fresh make up on so her look was complete. Definitely worth it. Expensive but really a great memory.
