I love it when a plan comes together! After visiting the world for Marathon Weekend (and week after) for the past 3 years, we had no defined plans to return and didn't expect to go in 2012.

Well, after a couple of bottles of wine last night (when all of the best ideas occur), we started talking about trying a fast-paced long weekend. Looked at crowd calendars and settled on Feb 10-13. We've never done any less than a week, so it will be a crazy time, but fun for all (DD3 & DS5).

This morning we called Disney Reservations to inquire about the Disney Reward Visa discounts. 3 nights at Wilderness Lodge, 3 day passes, and Counter Service Dining Plan. We are booked! 124 days to go. Here's the plan:

Feb 10 - arrive in Orlando 1pm, DME to WL and on to Epcot (Evening EMH until midnight!) How soon can we get to Epcot? We've never flown and used DME. Can we go straight to Epcot, or do we need to go to resort first?

Feb 11- All day at Magic Kingdom, 9am-10pm

Feb 12 - Either morning in DHS and evening in MK (EMH) or another full day at MK. Haven't decided on this yet. DS5 is a huge Star Wars fan, so the new Star Tours and Jedi Academy might force that decision. Also, TSM is always a favorite.

Not sure yet if we should split up Sunday (extra $220 for Park Hoppers), or just enjoy 2 full days in MK. Any thoughts on how best to do a weekend?

Has anyone had any luck adding park hoppers for just the final day for $35 instead of $55? That $80s might help with the decision.

Last ? for now...we always do a character breakfast or 2. Since we only have a short trip, should we skip it? Don't want to spend too much of our time in a restaurant, but the kids might do better with a full breakfast and slower start to the morning. May change to Table Service DP, but can't decide. Or, just drop DP and pay separately for all meals.

This sounds great! Hmm. If it were me, I'd probably do MK two nights in a row. There is so much to do, and it's just my favorite. Plus you have two young children, so there is definitely more to do there. The character breakfasts would take up a lot of precious time, since you will only be there three days, you might want to time manage. But if you think it's a smarter idea for the kids, maybe just do one? Quick Service for breakfast isn't bad :thumbsup2 Keep the boards updated! :)
