Im super exited! our holiday is now booked to animal kingdom lodge july 09. Got a realy good deal with firstchoice online orlando offer (14day park tickets included!) It was near enough the same price for akl as for allstars resorts! just thought id share that with you all incase anyone is looking to book!
cant wait!
Was also thinking it may be a good idea to book the dining plan before we go because of the exchange rate being so poor, so not needing to take cash with us for food.

Great news!! We are staying there for the first time in August and can't wait!! :cool1:

You will love Animal Kingdom Lodge, we are returning shortly for our third visit. The pool may not be as good as some other hotels, but the animals more than make up for it.

It is magical to wake up in the morning to sit on the balcony and watch giraffe, zebra, wilder beast, Thompson gazelle and a whole host of others animals in the grounds, not forgetting the flamingos down by the pool.

Please be aware that there building works going on at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The building works affect the left hand side of the hotel and are due to be completed in the fall of 2009.

The best areas are on the Trail to the right after the front desk called the Zebra Trail also overlooking the Arusha Savanna but much further away from the building area, also some rooms on the Zebra Trail overlook the pool and others overlook the Uzima Savanna.

In 2004 we stayed 16 nights, had a fantastic room overlooking the Uzima Savanna and we had just paid the standard rate. 2006 we went back for 21 nights and we were first offered room 5007 a tiny dingy room overlooking the car park, I went straight back to front desk and complained that we were here for 3 weeks not 3 days and the room was not acceptable. The lady offered us room 4075 saying that it overlooked a Savanna, I knew it was in the pool area, a manageress eventually moved us to room 2269 overlooking Sunset Savanna - mainly buildings and a poor view of Sunset Savanna. So if you have not paid extra for a Savanna room, it realy is pot luck in what you get.
