just booked airfare - $560 Cdn for 4 of us!

I think it's a pretty good deal. Not as good as last time we went 2 years ago (we spent <$100 round trip each on Spirit), but I'm pretty happy with it.
We are flying Northwest, leaving Detroit on September 22 at 9:15 am, arriving Orlando 11:49 am, leaving Orlando on October 1st at 3:47 pm, arriving Detroit at 6:45 pm.
AirTRan only has 1 nonstop flight per day, and the times were not that great. Spirit did not have any good deals this time around, so Northwest it is.
However, I did our seat selection, and there wasn't much left at all. We have pretty poor seats. Does anyone know if it's ever possible to change them - I guess it depends on if people cancel their flight?

I went with Spirit this time and we have round trip @ $235 each. We booked to early because they have lowered the price since then and I'm kicking myself in the butt over it.

Ug, you guys have it lucky where you live!

We got a really good airfare from Seattle to Orlando, and it was $259 per person (after all taxes and fees).

When we went 2 years ago, we paid $400 per person.

I guess it's not a cheap route b/w SEA and MCO compared to other airports!!

Great price! Have never gone NW so don't know about the seats. We always fly from DTW, though, and there seem to be good deals to be had from there. Enjoy your trip!

Hello neighbour! Great price on your airline fare! I like Northwest and have flown them 3 times to Florida from Detroit (and again this September). I have found that the flights on NW book up fast and canceling of flights doesn't happen often. Since you can choose your seats 90 days in advance, the good ones are usually taken early. Keep an eye out everyday and ask when you check in - maybe you'll get lucky. I, however, have had no luck changing around my seats that close to a flight on NW (unless you pay for the "premium" seats).

We too were able to snag a really great deal on our flights! $611 r/t for four of us from Minneapolis! If we flew from our home town in Canada it would be over $1800! We are flying Suncountry!

Wow!! Great deal! It amazes me how big of a price difference there is when you fly from the U.S. We always use to fly from Toronto but our next trip (in 9 days!!) we are flying out of Buffalo to California. It saved us quite a bit of money. Gotta love when you get a good deal!!

Awesome deal! I am from Chatham too Doobie and Bo Peep. It's a small world....
We always seem to get our best deals from nwa too. And of course fly only out of DTW. I wish I could go in the lower seasons but work does not fit. I did get my March Break tickets for 1000 for all 4 and I think that is a great deal for the time of year.

Congrats! My friends and I booked our flights to Orlando for my birthday a couple days ago. Flying down to Orlando on Dec. 30, flying back to Detroit January 2 with a stop in Atlanta each way for $470 each rt and we're flying FIRST CLASS for that price... Still not quite sure how we got such an amazing deal, but we're quite happy with it

We flew NW out of Detroit a few years ago and there is a lot of seat switching at the gate before you board! You didn't say if you have children but there are families that book and aren't seated with their kids so at the gate they start shuffling people around so that adults can be seated with their kids. My husband was asked to move from his seat with me and 2dd's and he agreed and for is trouble, was given $200 in flight credit!

Get to the gate early and put in your request.
