I've got to say I have only seen the treehouses from the water, during construction. I'm not sure what to expect! Should I request a certain area? I noticed there is only one pool. We will be renting a car so we don't have to rely on the buses. Any tips are appreciated.

We stayed in a treehouse twice and really enjoyed it. The vacation feels quieter, that's for sure but we loved the peace at the pool. Can't remember specifically our treehouse number but we were between the boat launch and the walkway to SSR and that was a great location.

We loved sitting onthe deck and bbq'ing as each treehouse has a BBQ. Very private! Friends were staying at OKW and they came for dinner a few nights.

We were just there for the week between Christmas & New Years, 1st thing is good you gat a car the transportation from there is not the best due to connecting at SSR. It is a bit of a walk to carry things from the parking spots and up the stairs.
We are quiet pool people so we liked the pool area, just a short walk from any of the units but only a few parking spots near the pool. It is a quiet resort the most noise we had were the buses & the golfers teeing off, we were in 7049 so we could watch them tee off.
Enjoy your stay it is very nice there , my son said it felt like we were camping.

Sounds perfect for us. Thank you for the info. I am a way-back Fort Wilderness lover, so this and VWL might be the closest fit!

When we stayed last February, we requested "near the walkway to SSR" and got a villa (two actually since we brought our extended family) a few units away from the walkway and directly across from the pool. It was a very short walk to the bus stop and to the boat launch. Requesting that makes it more likely you'll be in that area, which we loved. I'm not sure we would have liked being up near the entrance (though I can't imagine not enjoying our stay).
From our location, the walk to the main resort for very short and enjoyable. We even walked to the Paddock pool from there (all the way across the resort) with no issues. Of course, I also enjoyed walking from the treehouses to DTD too, so I guess that tells you something...:goodvibes

Sounds like where we stayed. I should check my passporter to see which unit we had. Steps to the walkway and boat dock as well. Really it was a good location and close to Grandstand, etc. Great unit location. Quiet but yet close to everything. I felt like we were "glamping".

Sounds like where we stayed. Request a unit close to walkway. If you aren't renting a car the bus stop is right there. The boat dock is close by as well. Quiet but within steps of SSR's "action". Felt like we were "glamping".

When are you going?

When are you going?
We are hitting Star Wars Weekends mid-May. I was surprised a villa was open, and I even waited a few days before calling when I saw it. I was able to make a reservation for BWV first, which also surprised me. But my son really had his heart set on the treehouse. I hate using that many points in a trip, but we have to burn some this use year. And Star Wars Weekends, well, that's all about him anyways. He might as well pick the resort as well!

Thank you all for the advice, I think I will call and ask if I can get one near the walkway. That's where I wanted to be, but wasn't sure of the "lingo" to ask for it!
