Just booked a cruise with points!

Just thought I would share the good news! I was able to book a 2011 August Mediteranean cruise on points. No problem at all!

I was able to book two connecting verandah rooms on the Dream for next July 2011 using our points but that was before that whole mess started.
Glad everything is back to normal!!!

Which ship? I heard the Dream was the impossible one to get. I tried to switch my reservation to points in June 2011 on the Dream a few weeks ago and it was a no go. By the way I tried to get on the call back list and they said the problem with that is you will not get the room nor most likely the category you originally booked. I said no because I want the room we booked.

Congrats on your upcoming cruise. I am not a DVC owner yet but thinking I could cruise with it also makes it even more appealing.

Can I ask what the point amount is for a cruise like yours ? Or is that too pushy??? THanks

Without looking at my paperwork. Which I can't do because I am writing you from work! I think I am spending 492 points for 2 adults for a category 9 for a 7 day Med cruise.

Not the best use of points, but it saves me cash out of pocket and the trouble of renting out my points.

I think the problem was the Alaska cruises and the Dream cruises.

I posted on another thread, that they changed the policy of being able to book on cash and latter change to points.I did this for a Dream cruise for August because DVC sugested it. Now I can't get it on points.This has ruined my next sumer vacation plans. Has this happened to anyone else.
