Just booked a Boardwalk View room! Question...

You guys are making me so excited for my trip! As for us, the view is never all that important to us. I mean, we enjoy a good one... but the location of our room is never a priority. We aren't too concerned about the noise levels, so it looks like it will just be a wonderful view!

I to will always stay on boardwalk view if when I had the chance. The last time the studios we had looked directly over the lake and could watch Epcot's fireworks just spectacular. Actually the noise form the boardwalk did not bother us to bad it is rather surprising

Count me in as another boardwalk view lover! But I love alot of the views at BWV too. I like alot of the preferred views as well. I enjoy looking at the clown pool and the canal to the studios. I have not actually had the quiet pool view, but I know I would like that as well. But if BW view is available I book it. I love watching the fireworks from my balcony at night and the people jogging in the morning. I have had issues with hearing the noisy crowd leaving jellyrolls at 2am. But that is only when I am in the furthest rooms closest to the bar - numbers ending in x001 or x003. But still worth the view!!

I also love the BW view. You also asked about the preferred view. If I couldn't get the BW view, I'd take the standard view. The one time I had the preferred view, if you look at the map, I was in the first "L" at the right angle. It was really tucked in a corner, so I couldn't see anything except the doorway below me. Yet, both times I've gotten the standard view, I've been able to see Illuminations.

My vote is for boardwalk view! In 1997 we had preferred water view for 3 of our rooms - 2 overlooked the quiet pool and we loved seeing TOT, the third room was overlooking the parking lot but these were 4 boys 15-21 so they didn't care what view, they were hardly in the room :rotfl2:

My last trip the end of January was a preferred water/garden view & I faxed a request for room over Wyland Gallery and got it. It had a huge balcony which we loved sitting out on - we could look out to the lake but the view was a little obstructed by the trees but we could still sit and people watch which is always fun!

In December 2008 we have a Boardwalk view and are so excited! I hope to get an upper floor - would love Javamom's room (pic above).

Thank you so much! I'm definitely keeping the BW view! I moved the ressie up one day, so am waiting on the same view for the first night which I obviously might not get... but i'm looking forward to having it the rest of the week! :yay:

We have only been fortunate enought to have the BW view once, but we loved it. managed to get it for the 2nd - 5th of january and really looking forward to it. It is just fun to people watch.

Hey everyone missy here my family and i stayed at the boardwalk on June 29Th and was suppose to get a boardwalk view but did not.My family and i checked in at 9 AM and was told there were no more boardwalk views.I kind of think that strange because when i booked with members services eleven months out they told me i was to have a board walk view instead my family and i had a two bed room first floor by the pool.We had a miserable trip. That's becuse the toilet back up of us the second day we were there and on the same day the blow dryer caught fire! some trip.i will take my saratoga springs any day of the week thank you.I spoke to someone from the disney vacation club about a week later and they apologized for what had happened. So i really hope that you get you boardwalk view i hear it's awesome.SEE YA ALL AT THE WORLD SOON MISSY AND FAMILY

I've only stayed in standard view. Is BW view possible at 7 months or are they generally gobbled up quickly? I have had the standard view twice and really didn't mind it at all. I would only use the higher points for a BW view, the other preferred views wouldn't IMO be worth the extra points. (I'm a point miser as you can probably tell.)

The room, that I took that picture from, was booked at 8-months out and was a 1BRM. So, it's possible I would say. I believe that 2BR units book much faster though and may all be gobbled at 11-months.

My confirmation showed Preferred View - Boardwalk View and I made a request of "upper floors." Lucked out and actually got 5th floor. I would have been happy with 2nd floor, thrilled with anything higher! I was very pleased!

photobob, we had both the preferred and BW view options at 7 months.

Did your confirmation say boardwalk view (you can also check your online record)? If I couldn't reserve boardwalk view, I would save points and get standard so I would want the difference in points returned. If you made the reservation at 11 months, there's no excuse not to get what you reserved, especially if you were there at 9AM. 1st floor by the pool isn't even "borderline". You said "I will take my Saratoga Springs any day", do you own at Boardwalk?

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind! beautiful babies by the way, very nice photos.

Thanks! I've heard that often BW view is not available, but I'm sure it depends on when you are traveling. This is my first time trying, I was even a day late and it was there ;) Of course, a week or two later and now there isn't one available... so book quickly when you can! :wizard:

Actually, the best room we've had at BWV was a water/garden view. We've had boardwalk view (right above the old DVC models) but our favorite was in the section right behind Jellyrolls facing the canal (this was after the old DVC building or whatever that was had been torn down). We were top floor and had an absolutely beautiful view of the canal, Swan, Dolphin, and TofT. We're booked at BWV the last week of Sept. and I requested top floor with view of canal, Swan, and Dolphin so hopefully we'll get that section again.....there aren't really too many rooms that solely face the canal w/o one of the pools also in the view.......

If you love BWV:love: ....there is no downside to Boardwalk View!:goodvibes

The only downside for me is that I spend a lot of time sitting on the balcony, drinking coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon. I waste entirely too much time doing nothing but enjoying the view.
