Just been told yr 3 student nurses can go to India to nurse

Hi,

We were told next year we maybe able to go on a third world trip with my university to nurse for 2 weeks. Apparently they have been to India, Africa, China etc and the leader is leaving this year, but has two names who may take over. This year they are heading to India in March.

I was feeling really lost recently with my training etc, but feel so inspired today. I have emailed the department and said that I would be definately interested going. What an amazing experience to give something back. I didnt know we did this and have always wanted to do this. I just cant wait now to get to yr3.

I think I will need to pack many tissues I think this is going to be such an eye opener and an emotional roller coaster.

Just had to share this with you. My poor husband doesnt get it. lol.

All fingers and toes x that the other lecturers will take over. I think they would if not I will find a way to do that once qualified. It sounds like an opportunity that I can finally give myself that I have always wanted to do. I would probably come back with few more people though lol.

Hi

Received an email. Providing the hospital agrees it will be going ahead. Only two people from each directorate will be able to go. The rest on a waiting list. You have to be recommended by personal tutor and have an interview. This all takes place later in the year. At least I know what is involved, which gives me time to prep for the interview. Fingers x, but have been told there are many ways I can still do projects when I qualify with my hospital.

Fingers x now for me.
