DD is doing Ancient Egypt at school and is facinated by the Egyptian mummies so ....... off to the British Museum we go.

They are holding a special exhibition about mummies at the moment which takes in a 3d show.

So on with the 3D glasses and in we go ( took me back to August when we went in to see Mickys Philharmonic !)

The show took you inside a real mummy filmed using CT scanning techniques, It was facinating ! and well worth going. DD loved it and can't wait to get back to school to tell her teacher all about it !

After the Museum we went to Covent Garden and watched some of the street shows.

I couldn't get over how busy it is in London, although we are only a 20 min train ride to Kings Cross we vary rarely go. It is certainly much busier now than it was a couple of years ago !

Ready for a cup of tea and a rest now !!!

Ooo you've really got me into thinking I must catch up on the museums - it's been an age since I've been way too many years - although I think I'll wait until the kids go back to school ;)

Sounds like you had a wonderful day :) You live so close I can't believe you don't go more often?

I love the museums in London! Fantastic entertainment and for free!!!

Yeah Kaylee we are close - only 20 miles from our house to the centre of London.

I think it's a case of been there, done that !

We used to go there as kids to see the sights ! Now we tend to go when something is on EG Princes Dianas death - we took the kids up there to pay our respects - the flowers and tributes were incredible. We go to the Parties in the Park. The Golden jubilee celebrations in The Mall at Bucky Palace were great.

We also went up for the Millennium but that was really frightening as there were so many people.

We always go at Christmas and drive down the streets to see the Lights !

We must make an effort to take our kids to more of the sights as we are planning on moving to Devon or Cornwall next year ! It's a long way back !

Do you know if this special 3~D exhibition about mummies will still be there when we arrive? I would love to enjoy this with DD.

Hi dreamflight 99

try the website www.britishmuseum.co.uk I'm sure that it is on for sometime. Well worth the visit !

Kaylee -- We are not sure yet we have started looking DH wants a sea view and as cheap as possible !!!

I want to see some sky ! rather than lamposts and rooftops and preferably a field so that I can have my horses back and then get some chickens !

We also have to consider DS who will need a college and DD who will need a junior school for a year and then a secondary school.

We are coming down in November again to have another look and will hopefully put our house on the market after xmas !
