My mum and Dad have just offered to pay for me and my hubby to go to DLP for my 40th birthday and to look after the boys for us while we would be away. :goodvibes Hubby had looked into the cost as a surprise but it was really high, considering the 5 of us are going the second week in january for 6 days for just a couple of hundred less, including all the transport.

mum has just found some easyjet flights out of bristol and for the return trip for 4 days the cost of travel is £122, and we would stay at sl, so a real treat for us.

We are however not sure if we can go at the moment because of issues of cover at my husbands work:mad: , but i am so excited at the prospect of possibly going just the 2 of us at christmas season it would just be soooooooooooo magical.

Also i have the guilt of not being here for my birthday as the boys will probably be really upset:guilty:

Should i go???

my mum and dad are going away for a couple of weeks on tuesday, so want to know what we would like to do, as they will also need to organise some time off of work to collect the little ones from school.

I do have a question though if anyone can help, usually we go by eurostar, but we will be flying from bristol which is gr8 *** its only 30 mins away. My question is how do we arrange transportation from the airport to the resort, i know they do the big red coach, but do we need to book that thru dlp, or can we just find the disneyland coach and pay on board, also the only floght out is at 7.30pm, so we will be getting to paris allowing for the difference in time around 9ish, does the shuttle bus still run after 9?

Many thanks for reading and any help

That sounds great - go for it.

We are going for a weekend in Nov for DDs birthday and flying for the first time - we usually drive there. We have decided to book a transfer through RS/BS transports as recomended by loads of people on here instead of getting the VEA coach. Theres info on it in the FAQ sticky at the top of the pg.

norty you have wonderful parents - go, and enjoy yourselves. Your children will have a great time being spoiled by their gran and grandad too!

Definately, I'm sure you will have a fab time. DLRP is a fab place to go without kids!!

You should definitely go.:goodvibes You can have two birthdays - one while you are at DLRP and one when you get home with your children. You will have a great time having a grown up experience of DLRP. You can also check things out for when you go again in January with the boys. Call it a fact-finding mission.:rotfl:

You are so lucky. I think you should take them up on the offer, do the boys need to know exactly where you are going? I'm going in October (this trip is for my 40th which isn't until January, but I thought January would be too cold as my youngest is not yet 2), but my kids will be with us because I don't have anyone to leave them with - neither of our parents would be able for it - so go & enjoy some time together when you have the chance. I would love even a day away from the kids, I am so jealous of you getting away to DLP for 4! I only hope your husband can get the time off work. Let us know what you decide.

Thank you all so much for your replies, mum and dad now away in egypt for 2 weeks, so when they get back we might know the situation at my hubbies work, only a small new business but doing very well and only 1 person can cover and he is being a bit of a s*** at the mo,and won't do anything extra to cover  so fingers crossed.

The oldest is 16 so he knows where we could be going and sulked abit, the other 2, are 6 and 7, but although my parents have been fantastic in this offer, they have NEVER had the boys over before to stay, so i am hoping that they will be ok, they havent even taken them out before!!! They will be at school daytime anyway.

Well i shall keep you posted, either way i shall have a fantastic time in january, and maybe even in nov, :goodvibes

I hope you can go :goodvibes we parents need be selfish for just once don't we????
Best of luck for your husband's job, this is really a worry for everyone these days

Maybe it would be easier on the boys & your parents if they moved into your house while you are away, if you can get cover for your husband's work that is. Good luck with everything.

I know my kids would not talk to us if we headed to DLP without them :sad1:
But it is a lovely gesture from your parents. What about adding the costs and taking the kids with you :)

thank you for all your replies. :goodvibes

No its not poss to take the kids with us in nov as we are going with them in january, this is purely an indulgent trip for me and hubby, plus i have got approval from the school to take them away in jan, i dont think they would honour it in nov as well lol.

Mum doesnt drive so wants the kids over there which is nearer to the school and just across the road from college for kyle so its much easier for them to stay over there any how.

But thank you so much for all the replies i am now about to make a new post *** i am verrrrryyyyy excited:goodvibes can u guess???
