I have a question. I am leaving for the world on April 23 for a birthday trip for my 4 yr old DD. My party will consist of myself, my bestie and obviously my DD and her DS. while we are there we are thinking having a double stroller will be a good idea. I have considered both renting a stroller or just buying an inexpensive one and having it delivered to the resort and leaving it behind when I go. I found one for about 40 dollars at Walmart. I thought maybe another diser could benefit because I'm thinking the baggage fees would not be worth trying to get it back. Any thoughts?

I would rent one, you get a nicer one, designed for walking around a lot, and I believe maybe 80 something for a whole week so not unreasonable.
plus cupholders which you might not get with a cheap one from walmart.

I wouldn't buy a cheap one. Umbrella strollers are not great for Disney. They are two handed push and the wheels get hung up often. We even bought a super nice expensive umbrella for my 3rd child and it was better, but was still an umbrella. For our fourth I bought a city mini and it is the best stroller by far that I've ever tried. It folds with one hand pretty flat which makes it great for buses. Also u can push with one hand. Great sunshade! And good basket! I would rent one though unless your 4 year old often uses one at home.

The City Mini is the one we rent when we go. They have other ones of the same brand for rent as well. they deliver it right to the bell stand. easy peasy.
we rented through kingdom strollers and they let you borrow a rain cover and a small cooler for free. they even will deliver a case of water for I believe 9.99 with the stroller, that came in handy.

go ahead buy the cheap one a give it away to a family checking in, if you won't have use for it back home, I personally will never spent too much for a stroller that's going to be used part time at the parks, renting a fancy one is a waste of money also, I wouldn't unless it was for a much younger kid that will spend all day on the stroller.

Not sure airlines are allowed to charge for strollers?

The City Mini GT double would be the way to go, its circa $600 to purchase including tax and is the best double stroller ever! Renting one for a week for around $80-100 would be the most cost effective way to go when taking into consideration usability, size, practicality etc.... the downside is that you don't have it at the airport to lug all your gear! But I guess the upside is you don't have to shell out all that money and can simply hand it back at the end of the week. Check craigslist for bargains!
