Just because Free Dining was offered during these months won't mean it's coming back

I am sitting here hoping with all my might for the gp free dining. I have been saving for a couple years now and have enough to take my kids on our first trip to Disney. (First trip anywhere for that matter, they have never been on a plane, out of the country or anything)

I realize for some regular Disney goers, it makes it easier not to have it because it is better for dining reservations etc, but for single moms like me, it is the only way I can afford to go without going into debt and I refuse to do that.

I did get the pin for free dining in July and August, but can't get enough time off work during the summer due to seniority there.

This will be the trip of a lifetime for my family. I was to WDW and DL for a day trip each when I was younger and that was it. We are hoping for 10 days with Mickey!!!

Cross your fingers for me and all the others that need it to get to go to Disney, the greatest place in the world. I want to give my kids their first real vacation (my oldest is 13), not just a weekend away somewhere.

Question. We have booked a Deluxe resort for the End of September with the 40% room discount. If they offer free dining for that time can we get both or will we be able to choose which one we want?

No, you can not have both discounts. You have to pick one or the other, Disney does not allow you to stack discounts. Usually (note, I said usually), the 40% off discount is the better deal than free dining. For example, if you are a family of 5, and everyone is over the age of 10, then the free dining might save you more money, but 9 times out of 10, the room discount is better if you are staying deluxe.

I just found this on the UK site.

"Stay at a Disney Resort and dine for FREE!* »

Save over £1500. Stay between 1 Aug - 18 Nov 2011

Looking to travel in 2011? Why not stay between 1 Aug – 18 Nov 2011 and dine for FREE*"

It's good till March 31st. The 40% offer ends March 27th. When these two promos end Disney will offer something else, but who knows what.

DW and I have utilized free dining twice in the past and I'm hoping we'll be able to again this year. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed that since Disney has been making it cheaper to book they've been gouging everywhere else, the theory being they will wait till we're there to rake us over the coals. Cigarettes tripled in price in one year(I'm now a nonsmoker), beer, soda, and treats seem to have doubled in the last few years. The general cost of living at Disney World has sky rocketed since 07'.

That all being said, we are still waiting anxiously for FD and I will book the second it becomes available.

U.K. free dining offers do not have any correlation to U.S. free dining offers - there is no comparison. Also, I don't believe U.S. costomers can ever book on the U.K. site.
