Just got back from our 10 days at Kidani. We had a dedicated 2BR, number 7238, and it was fantastic. This was our second stay there so we spent several of our days there wandering around the other resorts/DVC properties and I can honestly say we would not trade Kidani for any other resort. Great pool area, quiet, comfortable, and we just love waking up to all the animals on the savanna. We did really like the Wilderness Lodge as well and may stay there on our next trip just to try something different, but Kidani will always be our home. Now if November would just hurry up and get here for our Dream cruise!

We've stayed at Kidani at least twice. I loved it, but I also want to check out ones that I've never stayed before. I can't wait to get Boardwalk some day.

PS: The Dream is awesome! We were on it June 7 to 12.

We own BCV and AKV, at one time BCV was our favorite place to stay....no more! We absolutely fell in love with AKV, we love the decor, the artwork, the SAVANNAH! For us, there's nothing better than sitting out on our balcony in the morning with our coffee watching the animals, or with a glass of wine in the evenings. So relaxing and peaceful.

We own at AK and OKW, and I just can't say enough about AK. This is truely a way to spend a vacation. We haved stayed at other resorts and always seem go back to talking about the times we were at AK. We Love it there.

We love AKV as well. I know I may be odd in saying I love the master bathroom when you have a 1 or 2 bedroom unit. They really thought out the shower area and it is truly beautiful.

The only way they can make it better is the lighting...I know so crazy. But there are a few of us women who need our proper lighting to put on our make up face everyday. I know some of you will kill me for saying that but just stating the facts from my viewpoint...please be kind! LOL...:thumbsup2

The TRUE beauty of DVC is that each of their resorts have a different and unique feel and atmosphere so there is something for each of us to love...and truthfully we love them all for different reasons!

Glad you enjoyed your stay!
We love AKL, but have only stayed Jambo (usually concierge).

We visited the Kidani pool one day and it was nice, but it seemed strangely removed from the villas. I wish they had connected it better. I also wonder about the lack of food service options.

I'm glad you enjoyed your Kidani stay so much. We have a dedicated 2 bedroom reserved over marathon time in January and all 8 of us are looking forward to the savannah view!

So nice to hear you had a wonderful time at Kidani! Wonderful theming. We have enjoyed our stays there very much. One of our top 4 favorite DVC places to stay!

So glad that you had such a wonderful time at Kidani. DH and I took his mother and siblings at the end of May and stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom at Kidani and also LOVED it! I'm so glad to hear other members truly enjoying Kidani :thumbsup2

Totally agree ( but not for make up reasons) :)

I have to agree, I do like to get made up for dining at the nicer restaurants and I thought it was too dark to even put on eye makeup. I can't imagine trying to put on contacts. And I finally took the shade off on the lamp in the MBR to read at night, otherwise I had face the lamp and have my book within 6 inches of the bed's edge. Which really seems silly in a king sized bed.

Some last comments about the MBR bath. Did they have to have so many light switches, or couldn't they have put them all near the door as you leave the bathroom? I was forever leaving the one on near the sink and having to go back and turn it off. The fan would come one every time you entered the bathroom but turn off during your shower. The mirror fogged every time and after getting out of the shower I'd have to walk back over towards the tub and activate the fan before the mirror would defog.

BTW, I am looking forward to our next stay at AKV so the lighting really didn't ruin it for me.
