We just got got back from Florida yesterday. We spent three days in Disney and then headed towards the Ft. Myers area. This was our fifth trip since 2001, but our only time during peak seasons. The previous trips have either been in October or the early part of December. I knew it would be busy, but I was still shocked! The lines were extremly long (compared to what we are use to). I would like to stick to off season. We had a good trip, but I enjoy it much more in the off season!
We stayed at the All Star Music and thought we had reservations for a perferred room, but instead were about as far away as you can get. We put lots of miles on our feet! We did long days at the parks and spent very little time there, so it worked out fine.
All in All it was a nice trip! We strictly do the parks in marathon mode and then head to relax in a pool house for the remainer of the trip.

It is a shocker to go to Disney during the more busy seasons after going in the slow seasons. I know I was shocked and overwhelmed my first time in mid-August, and July, but it is a bit easier to get things done with the fast passes and a bit of planning.
