Just got back from a 7 day trip on Fri. evening and had a fabulous time! Crowds were very tolerable considering it was over the 4th and the weather very nice :thumbsup2 Ate at a few new places and stayed with some old favorites - here is a review :goodvibes

Boma - LOVED the buffet (was by far our favorite) this was our first time to both Boma and Animal Kingdom Lodge. Loved the flavors of the food, the selection, atmosphere and the waitstaff. We had an ADR for 6:00 and was about 20 minutes late due to bus problems but once we checked in we only had a 5 minute wait until we were seated. There were a few items on the buffet that we did not care for (watermelon rind salad, hearts of palm salad and couscous salad) but everything else was delicious! Would highly recommend :thumbsup2

Chef Mickey's - have eaten here for every trip and although nothing really bad happened here it seems as though we have "outgrown" Chef Mickey's. The food was ok (it was hard to eat a buffet here after eating at Boma the night before) but our waitress was great!! Character interaction was fine but the atmosphere itself seemed to be a little low key from previous visits. Will probably not eat here in the future.

LeCellier - was really worried after reading the recent reviews but was very pleasantly surprised! We were seated almost immediately, our waiter was very nice and prompt with drink refills, etc. and the food was very good! The kids salads were very large, my wasabi shrimp appetizer was delicious and the tomato stack was also very good. I had the 7 oz. fillet with risotto and my dh had the bbq 7 oz. and both were very good and cooked perfectly.
We shared the "chef's dessert" and the kids ordered the campfire smore and chocolate moose. All of the desserts were very good with the brulee and raspberry sorbet being my favorites. Would recommend!!

Crystal Palace Character Breakfast - we had eaten here once before and again it was delicious! Nothing bad to say at all. Character interaction was very good, food was better than average breakfast buffet and we were seated within 15 minutes of checking in. Will eat there again!

Ohana - Again I was worried after reading some reviews but my general opinion is that it is ok but I will probably not eat there again. My biggest complaint is that the meat is overcooked and that the rounds of food come out on top of each other which makes it difficult to enjoy the items that had just been brought to the table. After being seated the kids were immediately wisked off to participate in the limbo, hula dancing, etc. and by the time they returned the meat had already been served to the table. Therefore the kids really did not eat very much due to all the activity. I will say that the bread pudding ala mode with the bananas foster sauce is delicious! I also enjoyed the salad and potatoes.

Biergarten - Long time favorite and again it did not disappoint! Great food, good service and a fun atmosphere. Will definately go back :goodvibes

1900 Park Fare Character Breakfast - Same good food as the Crystal Palace and great character interaction! All of the characters really took their time at the table and interacted with both the kids and us! I think it was the first time that a character (Pooh) has taken the time to actually get their picture taken with both me and my dh. They were also very accomodating as we ended up being over 30 minutes past our ADR. We only waited about 5 minutes before we were seated. Would recommend!

We were also on the dining plan and would highly recommend it! Although it was more food than we could eat on occasion it was very nice to not have to worry about paying for anything! Found it very easy to use and only one place that we could not use it. Others have mentioned not wanting to use it because of counter service places only serving burgers, chicken and fries I will say that we ate a nice variety of food including: cheese plates, salads, wraps (vegetarian and chicken) and good counter services places in Japan, England and Morocco.

Hope this wasn't too lengthly and helpful to someone :goodvibes Would be happy to answer any questions!

Thanks for the reviews. I think I am looking forward to Boma as much as any of our ADR's in Sept. It just sounds so yummy. We'll also be eating at LC, CM, and CP too.

Thanx for sharing glad Le cellier was good :sunny:

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Glad you loved Boma. I loved having access to all that different food! It's one of our favorites. We also enjoyed our meal at LeCellier in December. Yum, Yum!
Thanks for the review!!

Thanks for the reviews! Maybe I'm glad I couldn't score Chef Mickey's ressies for our September trip.

I haven't seen too many reviews on Biergarten. What do you and your family like best on their buffet?

Sounds like you found the great and unusual for CS- Could we get those locations and reviews also? Love the way you eat!!!

Great reviews, thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to using the dining plan this December! :ccat:

As for foods that we like at the Biergarten both my dh and I really like German food so we like the Spaetzle, Sauerbraten, red cabbage, chicken snitzel and of course the black forest cake. A woman that we sat with really didn't like German food but seemed to enjoy the restaurant and seemed to enjoy what she did eat! Hope that helps!

As far as CS goes we ate at the restaurant next to Small World across from Peter Pan. My dh had a chicken pannini and I had the antipesto salad both of which were delicious. The kids had mac & cheese which was also good. The desserts were mickey mouse rice crispy treat and a canneloni. We also ate at Flame Tree BBQ in Animal Kingdom which had decent BBQ and frozen lemonade for dessert. In Japan we had a combination platter (very good) and the kids had teriyaki chicken and a ginger cake for dessert. Nice quiet place to eat that is air conditioned! In Morocco we had the chicken shwarma platter (very good) which had moroccan shredded chicken, tabouleh, cous cous and baklava for dessert. My one indulgence was fish and chips in England and the kids had McDonalds fries and chicken nuggets from a stand in Epcot near Canada (if you are on the meal plan and your kids like McDonalds I would recommend this stop), for the kids CS you get a large fry, 6 piece chicken nugget, large fountain drink and large McFlurry! One of my favorite CS was the Flatbread Co./Studio Catering Co. in MGM across from the Backlot Tour. There I had a greek salad which was good, my dh had the chicken and black beans (large 1/4 portion of whole chicken) with rice and black beans. The dessert was a delicious chocolate cake and fruit eclair. The kids meal was also very good (chicken wrap in a pita). If you are looking for something sweet you should try France. You can use your CS there and you get to choose two items for each person along with a drink. We had an elephant ear pastry, cheese plate, a french bread pizza and creme brulee. Nice quiet place to have a mid day snack or light lunch with seating either outside or inside at cafe tables. We also ate at our poolside grill at the BC where we both had a tortilla wrap (ok but nothing special).

Hope this helps! The CM's were also very helpful in explaining what you got and helping you to get the most for your money. Just make sure you tell the CM up front that you are on the dining plan.
