Just back from an off-site stay 10/19-10/21. We have FL resident APs and have been about 6 times this year. I learned two things this trip:
1. We have TONS of magicbands, but of all the things I packed this time, the magicbands were not one of them. I was in a panic when we were getting ready to leave for the parks the first day when I realized what I'd done. I did a quick search online and saw that our AP cards would get us into the parks. My husband and I each had ours because we use them for the AP discounts. But, I didn't have the one for our 4yo. All I could find online is that you can get a replacement with a valid ID, but I had nothing with me for our daughter. We went to Customer Service at Animal Kingdom and it was NO PROBLEM!!! I just showed her my AP card and ID and she made up a new one for my daughter. Such a relief! It was a bit of a pain not having our bands, but actually I found the cards much easier to scan for FP and entrance, you don't have to line them up just right. So, if you forget your magicbands, don't panic, just head to customer service!
2. I was not able to get a fastpass for Enchanted Tales with Belle (which was weird to me, I kept checking and could never get one, even for just one person, anytime of the day). So, I decided we would do that at rope drop since there was nothing else pressing we needed to do. Well, I discovered that they can't start a show until 20 people get there and they never usually have enough before 9:20 so the CM told us to just come back around that time. We went and rode Little Mermaid and came back at 9:15, waited about 5 minutes and then went in. So, don't plan to do ETWB as your first thing at rope drop, plan it for around 9:15/9:20 if you want to do it early.
Bonus Tip: Rope dropping FEA only works if the ride is up and running! We got at Epcot around 8:15 (park opened at 9) and were toward the front of the line for the ride. Kept waiting and waiting, but we never started moving. Finally around 10 they told everyone it might be a while before it started. I was surprised how many people stayed in the VERY long line. It was wrapped around back to Mexico. Our kids were having fun playing in line and it was our only Epcot day so we stayed. Finally, around 10:45 they opened the doors and we got right on the ride (which we all really enjoyed). When we got off, we were given an anytime FP for 5 people for any ride other than FEA. Right after that, the line to meet Anna and Elsa was 65 minutes so we went and ate lunch in Mexico, came back and the line was down to 20 minutes.
