Hi all! Just back from a 5 night/6 day stay at BWV! It was a REALLY great trip. Here's a report....

Travel party....myself, DH, DD & DS (19), and DD's BF (20)

Day 1 - Sunday - Arrived at the resort at 2:45 pm, after we had car service stop at Publix for some breakfast foods and drinks. Room wasn't ready (never is :guilty: ). All the boys went over to ESPN (which was PACKED!) to watch the football game. My DD and I went over to Big River Grille for a late lunch/early dinner. YUM! Went back to front desk at 4 and room was ready - yeah! DD & I unpacked while boys ate. Then we headed over to MK since it was open til 11 p.m. First we rode Space Mountain!, Buzz Lightyear and the Tomorrowland tram ::yes:: Then we saw Mickey's Philharmagic (a fav!). We were literally under the Wishes show, just outside of Mickey's Philharmagic! And it was magicalpixiedust: ! Then we went over to the Haunted Mansion, afterward we checked out the inside of the castle as DD BF was never there. It was late for dinner, probably 9:30, but Cinderella's Royal Table was taking walk ins. We browsed some of the shops, had a snack, then the kids were beat, so we headed "home" for a good night sleep.

We were in room 5069/5071 - 2 bedroom standard. Room was in excellent conition....here's a couple of pics of our view

Day 2 - Monday...DH and I went to DTD. We bought a great sketch in the Art of Disney store for our anniversary:) There was a Minnie/Mickey sketch with Mickey holding the miseltoe over Minnie, and she kissing him lots and lots! We asked the artist if he could make the miseltoe a wedding bell and put 25th in it, and he said yes! So we ordered it, I can't wait for it to come in the mail! We had lunch at Earl of Sandwich and shopped around. Kids went to Epcot and did the rides in the front of the park.
Monday afternoon we celebrated our 25th with a great dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse, and it was absolutely delicious!

Day 3 - Tuesday

We went to DHS for the day, it rained in the afternoon, but was warm enough until then to be in sleeveless shirts (at least I was). Rode all the rides, and when it started raining the boys went back to ESPN while DD and I went into the Art of Disney Imagineering (if I remember the name correctly :confused3 ). We watched the presentation, had our pic taken with Mickey:flower3: and went into the drawing class. I've always wanted to do this, but the rest of the party never did, this time my daughter was very into it and it was alot of fun. We did the Great Movie Ride, and went home to get out of the rain. We basically did most of the park, as it wasn't very busy at all. We went into Epcot that night for dinner at Tepan Edo and to see Illuminations. Dinner was really good, but the chef knocked over an entire soda all over my son, so he was a little chilly, to say the least, during the fireworks. We expected an apology at least or them deducting his dinner at most, we got neither. DH probably won't go back there, but my son took it with a smile.

Day 4 - Wednesday - We went to Animal Kingdom Park and had a blast.
All week so far the crowds were low and the longest we waited for any rides was about 20 minutes. AK Park was even better. The boys rode Everest 3 times in a row. DD and I rode it the first time and then went to see Flights of Wonder, and watched the baby monkey play all around his
"house" while his parents watched over him. All of us went on Kilimanjaro Safari, and walked the two trails to see the silverbacks and the tigers. It really was an awesome (and gorgeous) day. We had an early dinner at Tusker House and it was yummy! However, I'm confused on one thing. I called MS for adr's for Tusker House and they told me there was nothing all afternoon for a party of 5 except one table at 4 pm, so I took it.We get there and the entire place had maybe 4 tables plus us! I asked the waiter if they were busy at all and he said no, all day they were taking walk ins! What's up with the reservation system? Weird. Anyway, food was good, and we had a great day at the park. DD and I went back into Epcot that night to browse WS and stayed for Illuminations again! It was wonderfull again!

Day 5 - Thursday
Kids went park hopping to three parks to get all their favorite rides in again. DH and I went to Future World in Epcot and rode the three big rides there. Had a big lunch at Sunshine Seasons, walked WS and stopped to see Off Kilter (I love them :goodvibes ). Then we went over to SSR to see the BLT models, they are gorgeous in their own style, my DH really loved them, but they're really not my cup of tea. There was a model of the tree houses in the lobby area of the model showrooms and that looks really interesting! We headed over to DTD to meet the kids. They had tickets to Cirque Du Soleil. We ate a light dinner, no one was really too hungry. They headed to the show and we went back home. I took a jacquzzi bath :cool1: , ran the laundry:laundy: , and read a good book. My DH started packing us up because we were leaving the next day:sad: .

Day 6 - Friday. We were up early and packed everything up. Made a nice breakfast of pepperoni, eggs and toast in the room. Relaxed and read somemore of my book. Kids slept alittle late, got up just in time to pack and get something to eat at the BW bakery. DD and I did our last souvenier shopping in Thimbles and Threads. Then we took some pics on the BW and headed to the airport....

It was a WONDERFUL trip and we really can't wait to go back! Wish I could go during Pres. Week. I called today, but there is no availability for the three nights I want, anywhere on property, so I guess I'll have to wait:sad1:
The family had a great time and it was awesome spending the week together, with everyone's crazy regular schedule, this doesn't happen all too often anymore! Thanks for reading....

Thank you for the very nice TR. It's funny, it is like we all vacation through one another and reading your TR makes me want to go now. I will be there on St. Patrick's Day but it sure can not get here soon enough.

Once again, thank you for sharing....:cheer2:

Hi Laura,

Yes, the flights were fine, although we came home on Friday, the day after that accident out of LaGuardia! My poor DH was ready to rent a car and drive home! But he did very well.

The cake I ordered directly through private dining at Y&BC. I spoke to Marilyn, and then the chef asked me to send a photo of the one I wanted, so I did and he was able to make it. It was delicious, moist and not too sweet!

If you have any other questions, just ask.

Thanks for the congrats!

Awesome trip report! Congratulations, 25 years is wonderful! Your cake was beautiful! Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

Great TR! Happy 25th.... you should check out VB to escape this aweful winter!

Me ='s bad influence! :rotfl2:

Congratulation on your 25th!! That is an amazing accomplishment. I will celebrate 10 years this November and can't wait to celebrate my 25th with my husband--maybe as lucky as you and your family at WDW!! Beautiful cake!

I knew you were from NJ or NY when I read you made eggs & pepperoni. It's a favorite of mine too!

BWV looks beautiful.

What a great way to celebrate your 25th:thumbsup2

Just curious....how much was the cake...and how many people would you say it served. How long in advance did you order it?
Thanks
Kerri

Great TR! That's a bit of a bummer about the spilled drink, I think I would have mentioned something to the manager considering he didn't even apologize.

I dreamed we were at WDW last night thanks to this TR, LOL!

Hi there! It's fun to read your trip report! We were there at the exact same time! Sunday to Friday of last week! Glad you had a great time! I enjoyed your TR...if only I was able to pull my act together and compose one of my own! :)

Regarding your strange 4 pm reservations, there's a trend in restaurants to manipulate availability and push diners into slots that are convenient (i.e. more empty) for the restaurant. Since this puts the restaurant's comfort ahead of the diner's comfort, it's worth a complaint whenever you find it happening to you.

Congrats on your 25th!!! Yes, WDW is the perfect place to celebrate your anniversary. I love your cake. That was beautiful. Enjoyed your trip report.
Can't wait until our trip this summer.

Congrats on your 25th anniversary! Great pics.
We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary while down there this August. How much was the cake and how far in advance did you order it? Thanks

Thanks I'll keep the info re cake in mind :thumbsup2

Read your TR, you all got to do quite a bit, that's great !
I'd trade weather for less crowds any day ::yes::

Know what you mean about plane down here in NY, not what you want to hear...thank goodness no lives were lost & thank God it wasn't terror related which crossed my mind when networks first went on air with it - DH was at his office in NYC & they were all worried up there too. We're not keen on flying either in fact DH and I have never flown with our kids so we either roadtrip or cruise.

Glad everything went well on your trip and travels.

Glad to hear you had a wonderful trip and a nice stay at BWV.

We'll be in a standard view room at BWV in just 48 days. I love having a muffin and a latte at the Boardwalk Bakery each morning!

Sorry we missed you!! We were in 5077 from Sunday to Friday!

Congratulations on your 25th wedding anniversary! Time flies doesn't it? I loved reading your trip report with the pics. Sorry about the soda incident with your son. The cake is absolutely gorgeous. Welcome back!!
