Just back...the good, the bad, and the tour groups!

I thought of the SATGs last night while watching Brazil v. Argentina in Olympic Volleyball!

Everytime Argentina would serve the mostly Brazilian crowd woudl BOO LOUDLY!lol

Reminded me of July at WDW!lol

I noticed that they also tend to have a very different definition of personal space.

A Bus Driver at WDW told me that the Tour Groups can put TWICE as many people on a bus as other Guests can!lol

we are talking about those tour groups who don't actually have chaperones.. only "tour guides" who are paid big bucks to make sure the kids have FUN, at the cost of everyone else. and generally they are from SA. (and it is not just a "few" . this is why this subject comes up often on the boards,.. around July, and then again around January.)

an official looking CM in dress clothes, on a segway at our resort "informed" us that "July in Latin month at Disney.. THEY are OUR guests." at 2 AM after we called numerous times to have the group quieted down(not sent to their rooms, mind you, just quieted down), and soccer balls kicked against our window. numerous other incidents.
my husband was threatened by a "chaperone for smoking in th DSA at the resort. the group kept taking our towles and books off our lounge chairs and usurping the chairs for their group.. I could go on and on.

I "think" she is part of the team and not a chaperone.

Yes I am part of a large team of girls. I am one of the captains of the team not a coach. But we are lucky enough to have both of our coaches join us as we embark to nationals.

well, then I thank yhou and your teammates for your good behaviour and your coaches for making sure of that.

we are talking here about the well known SA tour groups who are known for their rude behaviour. that is why there are so amny threads about them around this time of year. cause it happens every year.

and then the apologists join in to say that it isn't so bad. as if we imagined our terrible experiences with them sigh

Maybe not but those who don't have any run ins with them and find their behavior fine didn't imagine it either.

So the cheer girls are little angels along with the other groups that are not "Brazilian"? We were there once when a bunch of cheer groups were in the park. Very rude. One girl would be in line for a ride and 25 girls would show up and get in line with her. CM's would say nothing. Also what about the pop warner groups (I think that is what they are called).

yes one earlydecember we did have a few problems with thte Pop Warenr groups at our resort. but nothing near as bad as the SA tour groups.

I never said it didn't happen. I only said that it doesn't always happen. There are lots of the 15's who are not behaving badly. We saw hundreds who were not disruptive, rude, or anything else out of the ordinary. THAT is my only point. To point out that all of them are not awful and just because you do see them or go when they are there it won't mean you will have issues. It is possible to see lots of them and not notice anything more than they are dressed alike.

bookgirl you weren't there. you have twisted the story. and it's not just my story. as I said, there is a reason every jan. and July people start threads complaining about these groups. (just like every dec. there are threads complaining about the pop warner groups, but that's not what we're talking about here.
bookgirl and Angi, I don't want to argue so we'll just have to be polite and agree to disagree.
