Returned last night from 7 days in the World (Sep 9 – 15). Here are some quick notes and observations.

Weather – Orlando had been hit hard with rain for the weeks preceeding our trip, and the forecast was for more of the same right up to the time we left for our visit. Lo and behold we had not a single drop of rain while we were there. One afternoon we left the Studios and drove to DTD and noticed the roads were wet so it must have showered there, but we never found ourselves under a rain cloud!

Crowds – Non-existent for most of the time, attractions were walk-ons even at mid-afternoon. For example, walked onto Mission Space and Test Track with no wait in the late afternoon on a Thursday. During the weekend of Sep 13/14 there were waits of up to 20 minutes on some of the more popular attractions, but many still didn’t find it necessary to open up their FastPass machines.

Condition of the World – With one exception, all seemed in good repair. We didn’t notice any peeling paint etc. However, Splash Mountain needs a good cleaning with chlorine or something similar. The mildew smell was overpowering, and we had to thoroughly wash our hands after riding to get the smell off- YUCK! This is one of our favorite attractions, but we only rode it once due to this problem.

Resorts – We like to resort hop and dine at various restaurants, and this trip was no exception. Most resorts seemed very quiet with the exception of the Contemporary where we stayed for our first three nights. This was probably due to the convention that was going on there. The GF was like a ghost town at 9pm, and at WL we were halfway through our dinner at Artist Point before any other guests even came into the restaurant. We stayed at the Yacht Club for our last three nights and thought it was spectacular! It too was very quiet and we were given a free upgrade to a water view room.

I’ll go over our notes and try to put together a more detailed report soon.

Sounds like a perfect time to go! Thanks for the report!:sunny:

we had mildew smell outside our homes......anywhere there is vegetation ....the smell with the humidity makes it bad...yuck.....I imagine the same with all the rain florida has had and then the humidity......thanks so much for your report

Wonderful reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Is this September unusually slow ?? We'll be there in less than 3 weeks and I hope it stays somewhat quiet.
