quick trip. First since Covid

1 br, Paddock area.

check in was smooth, room ready about 3pm

no regular coffee, just decaf (3 pouches) and 2 to go cups. so I called for regular coffee since amazon fresh not delivered yet. She came with cups. She went back and go coffee. 10 min later a gentleman came with coffee, creamer and cups!

amazon fresh worked great for delivery although it took an hour to go from bell services to me

after late night at parks, come back. case with extra pillows, blankets only had pillows. used towels as a blanket. got blanket next morning

phone in living room didn't work, jut one in bedroom

room was nice, clean and loved having trundle bed and sleep sofa. bathrooms are a maze! but great having 2 sinks and separate toilet.

I think housekeeping just needs to pay attention to details

epcot was crazy crowded, other parks were manageable. can't wait for hopping limit (after2 ) to go away

I'll be back in a studio in Dec. Need to make use of my AP!

SSR Grandstand is our Plan B when we can't get our preferred choices. We have enjoyed many relaxing trips to SSR and will be back in May.

Love the parking in front of your building, and the elevators!! Call me crazy, but the busses aren't to bad either.

Looking at the map it looks like Grandstand is an easy walk to the boat launch to Disney Springs. Is that true or are looks deceiving?

Parking in front of the building is definitely one of our pluses amongst many at SSR.

We just stayed 1 night at SSR in Oct. First time back since 2011, our first DVC stay. It was very nice. Loved the refurbished room. Room was 5225, the Paddock. Walked to the Carriage House that evening, and it was a nice walk, not too long at all. we were right by the pool, which looked fun. DH did the walk back from Disney Springs that night, and it was not all that convenient. Would do preferred booking if were planning on several walks to DS.

I was thinking of requesting a room at the Springs because it is closer to the restaurant and has what appears to be a better pool. The pool and slide are important since we are bringing a 5 year old.

Also thinking about Grandstand if I can get some information on the walk over to the Carriage House area.

No, it's true! That's why Grandstand is probably the most frequently requested Standard location, especially building 8501-8836.

Keep in mind that the Springs is a Preferred location, while Grandstand is Standard, when you book. The other Preferred location is Congress Park, which is the shortest walk to DS, and the other Standard locations are Paddock and Carousel. We were in Paddock building 4501-4836 once and loved it - Carousel bus stop directly outside our building and a short walk to the lovely pool - and were in Carousel 7101-7436 once, which wasn't bad but then again we didn't visit the pool that time.

How is the walk from Grandstand to the pool at Springs? I think if we stay this time at SSR the pool will be important.

Should be about the same as the walk to the boat dock - the High Rock Springs feature pool is more or less on the other side of the Carriage House (where you check in) from the dock, part of the main building complex.

Loved Congress Park precisely for the walking proximity to Disney Springs ...
Also, I love the Treehouses, which are another experience altogether.

We go in August so while we stay at resorts with proximity I found we used the Disney transportation instead of walking.

From BLT we used the monorail instead of walking and if we go from SSR to DS I expect we would take the boat.

When we go in January we would walk.

Just got back from our quick stay at SSR. We were in the 4500 building in the Paddock. Great location. The Carousel Bus stop is directly in front of the building. Quick note, to go to Disney Springs, just hop on any bus and take it to the Congress Park stop, get off and walk over. On the walk back, we'd get on a bus at Congress Park, get off at the Springs, then it was just a short walk back to the 4500 building.

Also, one great thing about SSR is that it makes the virtual queue at Gideon's much easier to deal with!
