four of us, dh,myself, son and girlfriend-in separate room got into orlando after another great continental flight around 9:30 at night august 5th. front desk was great. as a matter of fact every employee we encountered was nice, polite and friendly and went out of their way to be helpful to us except for 2 exceptions. the first one to bum us out was cashier at togo store where we went to buy cigarettes. she noticed us and went back to rearranging cooler. we waited a couple more minutes and my hubby said, excuse me could you help me. she sighed and walked over very slowly and rang us up.
the next time we went to buy cigarettes, she took the room key, rang it through and said it wasnt approved. i said that was impossible, there was $15,000 in available credit left - she looked at me, tried to run through again and it worked. the other person we found extremely dour and just trying to do the bare minimum of her job was the concierge believe it or not - isn't that her job to help guests of the hotel?
things that were great - club level, water taxis, service, fotl pass, food
things that sucked: pool being closed because of a big turd for four hours.
i think pool is to mall fo a hotel with 1000 rooms. heat index of 110 degrees.
would i go back- i don't know, will do disney nest year. more later

The only real complaint I have about all of the resorts is the fact that the pool closes WAY TOO EARLY!!!!!!

This really sucks hard. You want to hang at the parks until closing which is 10, you get back at the hotel by about 10:15 and you want to relax and drink in the pool for at least 2 hours, but no, by the time you get down there its 10:30 and you got 30 minutes. This really needs to be looked into and changed. I'm sure many many others have this exact same complaint.

As for your others about the workers, I never let a rude worker bother me. The way I look at it every place you go like this you are going to encounter some losers, just part of the fact that these kind of jobs don't pay much.

unfortunately, hotels have to follow the local health dept. regs as to "protein spills"; we hopped on a shuttle to the PB :cool1: ...blame the guests not the hotel. If it was closed to the water not passing a bacteria/chemical level; then it would be hotel's fault.

that really stinks about the CC being declined! We had a fraud issue happen when we were out the the country before; glad we brought a back up - scary indeed.

Q: did you notify your CC company that you'd be on vacation & when & where you'd be? Many times the fraud alerts will pick up an "out of area" usage or sudden increase in said usage.

Did you know that the pool is touted as one of the largest in Orlando area?
