Hi, everybody!

I haven't posted on these boards in a while, but we just returned from WDW and I wanted to write a review of the YC, since this was our first stay there.

To sum it up, I think I can I say we loved it! Upon check-in, we were notified that we had been upgraded from a standard view room to a water view :woohoo:-- We could see the Epcot fireworks perfectly from our own balcony! It was amazing!!

The room itself was very spacious (by Disney standards) and was very clean (mousekeeping did a great job for us on this trip). CMs were mostly very friendly and helpful, and the location is awesome. We found the resort itself to be very quiet, and it was a welcome break from the July heat and crowds in the parks.

While I would certainly stay at BC, I ended up being happy with the YC choice, since it seemed a lot quieter and was the first resort to be picked up and dropped off by the buses. We did not share buses with the BWI/S&D once the whole trip, which is something I was anticipating because that happened when we stayed at the Boardwalk in 2010.

The only minor issue was (as we knew going into it), the lack of great counter service selection. Plus the small counter service area in the BC was quite a walk from our room at the YC. As many have said in the past, this walk was very comparable to the food court walks at the moderates like CBR and POR. It did not seem much shorter (perhaps the same). Albeit much of the walk was inside.

Despite that minor issue, the YC was an excellent resort and definitely one of the best ones (imo) that we've stayed at so far!!

Thanks for your review. I'm glad you had a great time and enjoyed the YC :). We've stayed at the BC and loved the resort and location and I would like to try the YC, however, limited CS is a deal breaker for us, so the Epcot resorts are sort of put on hold for now.

We have stayed at the BC 3 times but love the atmosphere of the YC! Thank you for the review!

Can't wait!! Your post has given me a renewed adrenaline rush!! :yay: Thanks so much for your post. I have been at BC, but this will be our first YC stay. Needless to say, I can't wait! :hyper:

Yes, if the Epcot resorts just got a food court (even to share among all the resorts!), they would be almost perfect places to stay! :)

Hooray, I'm excited for you!! But jealous, very jealous!!

We LOVE the entire Epcot Resort area. You can't go wrong with any of them. We even enjoyed the Swan and Dolphin once. The location is awesome. We are DVC members now and out home is Beach Club so that is where we typically stay. I think there is a ton of counter service opportunity between all of the resorts and having Epcot just steps away. I guess having some type of food court would be a bonus though. Glad you enjoyed the YC. It's hard to not fall in love with this area!

Yay! Happy to read this. We're staying at YC for a couple nights in 36 days. I can't wait. We've stayed BC before and love it. We visit it often. In fact I would've booked it for this trip but we want to try CL and BC didn't have any availability for our dates. But we are excited to try a new resort.

It really is an amazing area! I'm wishing I was there right now!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience :thumbsup2 We are staying in August. I am surprising the family with CL and thy won't know until we arrive :cool1: Your report is reassuring that it was a great idea to pick YC! Now for the wait :scratchin

Again, I'm so jealous!! Haha I'm sure CL will be fantastic! Enjoy, and try to be patient! It will get here eventually!

I agree about the CS. We avoid BC Marketplace like the plague but found Hurricane Hannah's has some decent stuff. :) Usually if we want to CS meal we'll just walk into Epcot and hit the fish&chips. :thumbsup2

We actually never tried Hurricane Hannah's! We planned to but ended up eating CS in the parks (I don't think they serve breakfast at HH's?). But yes, beyond filling our mugs, we only ate at the Marketplace for one meal I think.
