Just back-quick thoughts

The key to the goat trick is to keep watching the goat until it is absolutely gone from your vision. There is a very strong gravitational pull that you will feel - if you turn back too soon you'll miss it. It is much stronger if you sit in the back too.

I do the goat trick every time I ride BTM. Sometimes it works, most the time it doesn't. It helps if I'm either riding solo or am on the right side of the car. Also, I think it helps to be in one of the last couple of cars.

BTW--WDW can't have the Billys. No way in heck to reproduce what they do because it takes the guys in the show (any of the 8 regulars and at least a dozen subs) to make it special. I just can't see WDW being able to pull off the show.

That is a great point. Those guys are so funny, they wouldn't be able to duplicate the show in WDW.

For the goat trick, I made sure I was on the right side both times, however, we were never in the last section of cars. I kept eye contact the whole time, until he was out of sight, but alas, it didn't work.

Great trip report! Even if it does compare DL to WDW. I used to get so frustrated reading similar reports, because I had never been to either park. Reading "DL Splash Mountain is just like the one at WDW" is so not helpful if you haven't been to either! Now that I have my first trip to DL out of the way, I get a bit more out of these.

Thanks! I really enjoyed writing it. As you can see by the title, it was originally just going to be some quick thoughts, but it ended up a little more involved than that! :rotfl:

Thank you for your quick trip report. It help me because I will be going to DL and DCA in 17 days for a quick weekend trip and my SO and I are newbies when it comes to DL. Last month we got back from WDW, so I would like to know all the "must do's" at DL!!

Fantastic trip report.

Im sorry to hear that you didnt see Mickey. Can I please give you one piece of advice for the next time you head there?????

A really excellent way to see Mickey is to head to the Hollywood backlot in DCA and spend time at the Animation Theature. They have 3 people come out and do this singing and dancing performance rightoutside the theature, and it always includes Mickey Mouse and 2 other characters. Always a princess, usually Cinderella or Snow White, and for the other 2 characters ive noticed they switched up Woody from Toy Story and Hercules.

They perform several performances throughout the day, and after they head into the theature and do meet and greets with visitors.

CM's told me a lot of people dont know that. So its a good tip. Theres no real line ups to see these characters either. Your up seeing them in about 2 minutes.

But I've caught mickey walking around the backlot several times elsewhere. I would definately check it out. Oh and Mickey is always in his Sorcerer outfit for the performances. :goodvibes

That is an excellent tip! We didn't know that, we were in the Animation Building and it was pretty quiet. We waited a bit to get in to see Turtle Talk with Crush, and when we came out the lobby area was so crowded with people! THEN we noticed Mickey and a princess and Woody, and that there were rough lines! And the lines for the character meets really weren't long, it's just that there were three different lines to meet characters, plus the people trying to get around in the building, the space seems much smaller!
