First off, what is with this cold and windchill in spring?!?!

We got back yesterday and had been there since March 4th (week before Ontario March Break). Weather was really good - mostly 70's (which feels hot to us) and a few 80"s but evenings were pretty cool - only a few evenings without coats.

First week was not busy at all - we did Universal and IOA the first week and walked on everything all day. I couldn't figure out where everyone was?? Normally we do Disney only but decided to try UO and IOA since the kids like the coasters and I have to say - unimpressed. It does not have any of the ,magic Disney has. Perhaps it's nostalgia, perhaps it's the familiarization with the princesses and the characters )I just like Pooh bear better than Spider Man!) but we really didn't feel it was anywhere close to the Disney parks!

Second week (March Break) we noticed restaurants were busier, roads were busier, but manageable. We only did Typhoone Lagoon that week but it was great - no major lines and we hit it on the best weather day of the entire week!

This past Monday we went to MK. I knew there would be crowds given the park hours were extended for the next 2 weeks to 8am - 1am! We got there for 8am and the kids walked on Space Mountain (where they were rewarded Dream Ears) we walked on most everything until about noon. AND THEN IT HIT! 70 minute line-ups for everything - even Peter Pan and queing to see the pricesses at the judges tent was 75 minutes!! We left the park and decided to come back after 8pm and stay until close thinking it would quiet down - WRONG! When we got back, everything was still 70-90 minute waits and so we fast passed our favoutites - Space Mountain was out of fast passes and que remained 90 minutes until we left at midnight. It was unbelievable! The man driving the tram back to the parking lot said it was the busiest day so far of the year the 2 mweeks surrounding Easter are alwatys the busiest. He said MK had 68,000 that day!

So Wednesday we decided to use our last day at Blizzards Beach. We got there for opening at 10am along with about 20 buses, half the lot already full and line-ups galore! This is a small park so crowds can really feel conjested I think. We left by 2pm to go back to our resort pool. Note to self - don't go during Easter again!

It was a great trip though and I hear we missed some brutal weather. We took advantage of a deal at Sheraton Vistana Villages - it was a "discover and Stay package" so we got Disney passes, dinner at Planet Hollywood, and even movie passes and a great rate on a 2 bedroom condo but we had to do a 90 minute timeshare presentation which was actually really interesting and something we might consider in the future! I recommend giving this a try - the resort is amazing and it is fairly low pressure.

Guess that's all for now. Moral of the story is, early March is a great time of year to go but avoid Easter at all costs!

so glad you had a wonderful time!! I was at DLR the same time frame & felt really bad when my sweetie kept telling me he was going out to shovel more and more and more snow, and for me it was 70 and sunny

did you like vistana? we did two nights there a couple of years ago and thought it was huge, gorgeous, could not believe the size of the 'condo' and washer/dryer was ideal too, pool complex was nice also

we didn't do the timeshare presentation but I would next time for free tix!

welcome home and here's hoping spring weather will be here any minute now

xoxoxo

Do the Timeshare! We got 4 nights accommodations, 2 Disney Park tickets ($71 value each), 2 Disney waterpark Tickets($39 value each), $30 Planet Hollywood vouchers and 2 movie passes and our package was $449 plus tax! Well worth it and we definatley are considering buying into Starwood timeshare!

I know we got a good rate when we went and all but that is crazy good! Thanks for sharing, I'll keep that in mind for sure!:thumbsup2

Make sure you look into Disney Vacation Club before buying any timeshare - sure, the presentations sometimes give you cool perks, but they're not long-term and DVC is so much better than some other 'timeshares'. We did two timeshares before DVC, and it wouldn't have been worth the two free Epcot tickets to me if I'd bought one of the other ones - we love our DVC!!

Glad to hear you had a good time. You mention about the weather, we are heading down next week, instead of jackets, would sweatshirts be alright in the evenings??

We took jackets and never wore them! Just pack a good fleece - perhaps one with a hood in case it is chilly with a wind to keep the head and neck warm. We only had one night where it dipped down into the 40's but most nights were high 50's low 60's but that was at 3am so up until midnight it was totally fine in fleece! ENJOY - I am so jealous!
