After many "less than great" comments about OKW, I was so satisfied, with our WONDERFUL stay. We rented points from a DVC owner. Brothers family and DH and myself each had a studio. We found the rooms, the resort, the whole experience VERY charming!!! It was so relaxing. You feel very much like you're a part of a special little community. The bus service was excellent. We stayed in Building 62, which is right next to the pool and main community hall. It had an elevator, which was very nice for me since I have knee problems. The pool was wonderful, and the way things are set up it does seem like a little friendly community. We LOVED it and would definitely stay here again.
We've now stayed at 3 resorts, we've really loved them all, and feel they all serve a good purpose depending on what you need at the time.
Contemporary is perfect for families, the large rooms and ALL the conveniences right in the tower are unsurpassed. I'm a little nostalgic about this one since it's the resort we stayed at with the kids.
Boardwalk Inn is really nice for off season when MK closes early. We loved walking the Boardwalk and EPCOT in the evening. It's very nice for "honeymooners" and "older adults". I don't know if it was because it was "off season", or just the way it is, but we found allot less kids here than at the Contemporary. Also a nice location for teen-agers who like walking around EPCOT and going to MGM more that MK.
OKW is wonderful for a quiet vacation. One where you enjoy the activities of the park, but when you go back to your resort you would rather sit on your deck and relax, or take a quiet dip in the pool. The scenery is so peaceful. You really feel like you're "away from it all". Really lovely!!!
Well, looking forward to our "one bedroom villa" at the Boardwalk in December. Just DH and myself!!!
