Just got back from OKW. We had a 2 bdrm for my DH & me, and my DS's family including our 20 month old grandson. Great trip except for the rain on Tuesday, 1/2!
Some comments:
Check in was much faster than 1/1/06. Short lines but system wide computer problem for the key cards. Couldn't get them until later in the day. Checked in around noon and got the cards about 3:30. Still a smooth check in.
Took magical express. Very convenient but we did have to wait for our luggage. After calling several times; did not get luggage until after 8:30 at night. Very short supply of bell services personnel at OKW.
Used garden grocer - great. Used A Baby's Best Friend for a crib. Crib was good; nice and very clean linens. Only problem was getting it to the room and back to bell services. Again, very short staffed.
Room 1331. We were across from the Hospitality House. Great 2 bdrm. Everything clean and in working order. Nice golf course view.
Used the DDP. Had to buy rice krispie treats to use up snack credits on our last day. Worth the money. Dinner at the Brown Derby and at Cap'n Jack's (twin lobster tails) were the best. Not impressed with Hollywood and Vine and Le Cellier doesn't quite live up to all of the hype. Food was average, at best.
Used a Kolcraft umbrella stroller which did the trick. Very glad that we didn't bring his bigger stroller. The .89 rain ponchos from Target were life savers.
Bus service was excellent during our stay. No long waits at OKW or at the parks for a bus.
Lots of welcome homes at OKW.
The big pool with the slide at OKW was a wonderful temperature. Not cold at all.
MK was the busiest of the parks. Met a wonderful CM from Chicago named Brigitte who backdoored us unto the Great Movie Ride at MGM. We are very appreciative. Never have had that done and never expected it to be done. She saw my DGS's Cubs bib and offered it when we said we'd never make it to the Brown Derby in time for our ressie if we waited. What a special treat.
All in all - this was a great trip and a very special one for Grandma and Grandpa. We took our adorable grandson to WDW for the first time. He was awestruck. It was such fun. PS - He loved the characters and wasn't afraid. We were thrilled
