We arrived at the Polynesian 3 hours after we were supposed to due to several delays with our flight. We carted our luggage in to the lobby and I asked where I checked in for concierge. I was directed to the Hawaii building with no offer of a ride. I thought Oh, No this isn't starting out well. So my DH, myself and DS(4) carried our luggage to the Hawaii building. We were greeted by two very nice CM's who were appalled that we were not driven over and we didn't get our lai's. We instantly received our lai's, juice, a copy of our itinerary and our room assignment. We were in GV, 3rd floor. I didn't smell smoke in the hallways, or our room and we are all non-smokers. The stay was great, no complaints at all. I also mentioned it was going to be my birthday during our stay. I received a very nice cake, with balloons, hats, horns and candles. It was a very nice touch!~ :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc After 4 nights we moved to POFQ. My cousin and her family were coming and they couldn't get a room at the Poly, so to be closer to them, we moved. We packed our luggage in the morning and it was delivered to the FQ when we checked in that night. The FQ is very nice but after staying in poly con. its like a reality check. We were in building 5, very close to the pool and the food court. The pool was great and the room was nice. I missed my balcony though. Any questions feel free to ask.:bounce: :bounce:

My wife and I will be there Dec 14th. It will be our 1st time at the Poly. My question is how well did the busses run for that resort? Is there only one station? Is it always crowded, etc..?:D

I'm sorry but we never used the bus service from this resort. We only went to the MK, during our stay at the Poly so we always used the monorail, which was great! I noticed alot of buses were cut since our last visit. Resorts who used to have their own bus now have to share with other resorts. I don't think the bus service is as good as it used to be. See my report on the transportation board for a more in depth report. Have a great trip!:D

Sounds like you had a great time. One question though - why / how did you get by all of the bellmen outside of the Polynesian? Did you schlepp your luggage right past the bellstand and over the bridge into the lobby? Maybe they thought you didn't want assistance with the luggage?

I'm sure the bellman thought we didn't want help. But I thought as well as the CM's in concierge, someone should have offered to drive us over in a cart, not just give us directions, since it was also very obvious we had so much luggage. Like when I asked the CM in the Poly lobby how to get to the concierge building , she would have said Oh, I'll get someone to take you over. Not its over there. No big deal, we loved our stay.

Hey fellow Pennsylvanian! I used to live in Pgh. Glad to hear your stay at the Poly was pleasant. We will be trying out the GV concierge for the first time in Jan. I was wondering what room number did you have and what was your view from the balcony? Also, it will be my DS's 6th bday while there. They noted it on the ressie but do you have any other suggestions on what to request (I'm willing to pay for)?

Hello!!!! You will love your stay at the Poly. I only requested either ground floor or balcony and an upgrade if possible. We didn't get the upgrade but I didn't expect to so that was fine. We were on the 3rd floor furthest away from the concierge lounge which was kind of a pain but easily dealt with. Our view was of the quiet pool. Nice view and we could still throw bread to the ducks as they quacked below our balcony. I noted on our P. I. it was going to be my birthday, nothing else. And I was greeted with a cake, card, horns and balloons. My son (4) loved it! I have heard you can have them deliver anything to your room if you request enough in advance such as a special gift for your son for his birthday, like an autograph from Mickey or something more. If I can be of anymore help let me know. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the info. Do you remember what your room # was?
