DD26 and I got back from our 2nd trip to DLR a couple of days ago. We've also been to WDW twice. We had a great time! We stayed at BWPPI and were very pleased. Of course, being right across the street was awesome for when we stumbled back at the end of the day, or for naps. The motel was clean, quiet, and staff was friendly.
We used Super Shuttle to get from and to LAX. No problems. We got to Anaheim around noon, and after checking our luggage in at the motel headed to Downtown Disney. It was the last grad night and Downtown Disney was crowded but fun.
Got to rope drop at DL on our first park day. Went to Fantasyland and rode Peter Pan and a few others. Practically walked on rides. DD remarked that as much as she liked walking on rides, she missed the excitement of the crowds. On our second day we went to CA. Went to TSMM and just about walked right on. Then went to RSR and got on quickly using the single-rider line. Then pulled fast-passes to ride later. The Animation building is great and we went to three drawing classes at various times. We saw the Aladdin musical twice with two different casts. They both brought different fun to the show. We also saw Mickey and the Magical Map at DL twice. It's a show not to miss!
We had a total of five park days and enjoyed every moment! We took it slow, enjoyed a lot of treats, and sometimes just sat and soaked in the atmosphere. The CMs were great, not a grump in the bunch, and the other guests were courteous, especially with strollers and ECVs.
For people who have younger children, I highly recommend DLR over WDW. The reasons: Toon Town, Cars Land, and the fact that there isn't as much walking because the rides are closer together.
