We arrived 6/23/07 and left on 6/30/07. This is a quick recap of where we ate.

Breakfasts - It is my opinion that the breakfast in general has gone downhill. Everything tastes exactly the same. There is nothing that really stands out anymore. My family felt that the only difference in breakfasts was the atmosphere. I know, how can you make eggs taste different from one place to another? It just felt recycled to me. Just my opinion:

Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge - good deal. My husband and I did the skillet: waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits. Kids had just waffles.
Food was good, service good, atmosphere very noisy, but fun!

Roaring Forks at Wilderness Lodge - okay, but crowded. My 9-year old and I had the egg, bacon and cheese croissant. My husband the adult breakfast of eggs, pancakes, and bacon. My little guy picked at cereal. Not too bad.

Chef Mickey's at Contemporary - breakfast buffet with the characters. Food was so-so. Character interaction good.

Trails End at Fort Wilderness - another buffet, not so expensive. Decent food choices. Attentive servers.

Kona Cafe at Polynesian - good food. Good service. Tonga Toast is good, but very sweet.

Lunch:
Pecos Bill at Magic Kingdom - crowded, but really good fixings bar. The onions and mushrooms on my burger made it stand out from the rest.
Casey's Corner at Magic Kingdom - I don't know, but we really like these hot dogs! However, next time we will split two between the four of us. They are huge.
Electric Umbrella at Epcot - Good, but kind of crowded.
Roaring Forks at Wilderness Lodge - Not too bad. However, my four-year old ate the four little chicken nuggets and wanted more. I had to wait in line (again) to get another dish.
Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom - YUM! We are totally a rib-loving family. My husband and four-year old (yep, him) got the 1/2 slab of ribs and loved them. I got the BBQ pork sandwich and enjoyed it. My 9-year old got the hot dog and enjoyed it. This was our favorite lunch.

Dinner:
Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge - good meal! The adults got the skilet. My husband thoroughly enjoyed this. He kept getting more ribs!

Prime Time Cafe - while the food had gotten so-so, we go for the atmosphere. Hubby got the pot roast - fork tender and yummy. I got the fried chicken - a bit dry this time. Kids got chicken tenders. What can I say about them? Waitress was not great. She forgot our cutlery. She didn't bring us straws. Our dessert came out about 15 minutes before our coffee. The best - kids got ice cream without spoons. Took another 10 minutes to get spoons. By then, she had to get them new ice cream! Lucky for us, we weren't charged for the adult desserts (kids were included with meal).

Restaurant Marrakesh (Morocco) Epcot- absolutely delicious! I got the chicken couscous - yummy but oh, so much! Tender and fabulous. My husband got Night in Casablanca - lamb, chicken, and fish. He is a lamb lover and declared this lamb excellent. Kids got hamburger and pasta. Thumbs up from them. Great food (we were a little nervous) and great atmosphere. Funky, different music with a belly dancer. Would go back!

'Ohana at Polynesian - All you can eat skewers (turkey, pork, sausage and steak). Mostly good, but pork very dry. Loved the salad. Husband enjoyed the shrimp, but liked it better when it was skewered. Kids did not eat, so ordered something else - guess - chicken strips! Bread pudding was really good. Service was so-so. They were training new waitstaff. Tended to wait quite a bit for drink refills. Had a fabulous view of the castle.

Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom - Dinner with Pooh and friends. Very good food. Meats were Prime Rib and Turkey. There was yummy garlic mashed potatoes, rice flavored with lemon and something else, pasta dish, chicken dish, roasted chicken, kids selections, etc. The salad bar was great as was the dessert. It was our second favorite meal. It is a bit pricey, but the food is really good. Server was excellent - our drinks were never less than half full!

Trails End at Fort Wilderness - What can I say, my family is a fan of ribs! They did not disappoint. The chili was good! There was chicken, ribs, london broil, salmon, salad and much more. It was a nice dinner at a nice price. We love the rustic atmosphere and the casual dining.

Intermission at All Star Music - Hubby had the half roast chicken with rice and some veggie. Really enjoyed it. Went back later for the other half! I had the chicken quesadilla. Good, but a little "cheesey" for my taste. Kids had pizza. They weren't overly impressed as we are used to the "New York" type of pizza. Food was good enough, but lines were crazy!

That's my short and sweet report. Overall, we were pretty happy with what we ate. I am not a big fan of having to wait in yet another line to check in with your priority seating - we arrived at Crystal Palace at 4:45 for our 5 p.m. reservation and stood in line waiting to check in for 20 minutes! There has to be a better way! Feel free to ask any questions. Remember, though, my thoughts and opinions might be different from yours or anyone else's!!!

:)

Thanks for all the great info!! I agree with you, I don't mind waiting to be seated, but I can't stand waiting to check in!!

thank you for posting! Reading your report was making my mouth water! I'm SOOO in the mood to be in WDW right now! I was thinking about make an ADR for Prime Time but had heard a lot of mixed reviews...glad we decided to skip it this time.

Next time you go, try the breakfast at Ohana! That was my favorite meal of the trip! After reading your report I am looking forward to eating at Flame Tree BBQ!

Can you eat in a restaurant at one resort if you are staying at another?

How do you book meals so far in advance. We are going end of Sept and I have no idea what we are doing which days never mind where we are going to eat.

Yes, you can. You can make a reservation (an "ADR - advanced dining reservation") for any restaurant at WDW regardless of whether you are staying onsite or not. I highly recommend you make some ADR's as soon as possible at 407-WDW-Dine. You can always cancel if your plans change, but it's getting harder and harder to just walk into a Table Service restaurant and get a table.

I suggest you go to allears.net and click on dining. You can find all the menus here and it will help you decide where to eat.

Good luck.
