Started with a bang...the shuttle launch a week ago Friday. We watched from the Causeway for the first time.
Saturday was the start of the D-23 Flowers and Fireworks event. Wonderful!!! It didn't end until Sunday night...the finale was watching Illuminations with a dessert party at the Italy Pavillion.
Sunday...BCV here we come! As usual my no requests ressie got us a great room. Close to main elevator and a nice view of the fireworks. We also spent the afternoon enjoying the last day of the F&G festival.
The week ended with Star Wars Weekend...we made it to DHS by 8 am Friday and were shocked to see all the people who had camped out for the autographs line since 3 pm the day before. I ended up as the sacrificial mom who stood in line for over 3 hours to buy limited edition pins....in the end it was an interesting experience. Stood in line with nice people who made the time go by quickly. Love the pins!
We cooled off after our day at SWW by using the BW slide. After a week at SAB we enjoyed a change. Not too crowded either.
Pixie Dust Moments:
I goofed big time with my tickets. Tried to buy a less expensive ticket to bridge up, but did my math the wrong way and bought tickets that were worth more than the AP amount (although it still cost a little less than the actual AP). Anyway, I knew it and was chalking it up to lessons learned, no big deal. But get this: when we did go to do the AP exchange, a FABULOUS CM told us to wait a few minutes...and in the end he actually refunded us the extra money. Lovely and unexpected.
TSM: one day we ended up with one extra FP. It's kind of hard to give away just one FP. The CM there watched me try. So she called me over and said to find a deserving family of my choice and she would fill in with the extra FP they needed. Well, THAT was a lot of fun!!! Especially to see their faces with a 90 minute stand-by time.
