We stayed 8/30-9/9 - 3 resorts. Me(turned 30 on trip), DH 34, DS4
8/30-9/2 - Art of Animation - Nemo suite
Checkin- a breeze arrived at resort about 3 PM on Thursday. Got our folder and were on our way to room right away.
Room - was awesome. It was a family suite, so we had the bedroom with queen bed (very comfortable, and I slept in it by myself
, as DS wanted to sleep on the bed that folded from the wall and wanted DH to sleep with him., no argument here!). Love that it had 2 baths also. The foldout from the wall bed was comfortable also. We never folded out the couch bed, we didnt have a need for it. Tons of space and everything was new and nice. We had a view of the lake, very quiet.
Pool- went to the Nemo pool, and the kids sprinkler pool - both great though a little crowded midday.
Food court - we ate here the first night, and food was decent but bad experience our son ate a brownie that apparently contained pecans and he had an allergic reaction (we didnt know he had any allergies) and we had to go to the emergency room. He was fine after some meds but he didnt want to go into that food court again.
Bus service - Not good. Of the 3 resorts we stayed at, this was the worst bus service. One day waited a half hour for a bus to Animal Kingdom around 9:30AM, we saw at least 2 buses for each other location in the meantime (some that were pulling up and no one there so just leaving again) while the Animal Kingdom line was a mile long. We also had long waits going to and from MK and going to HS on our last day at this resort.
Decor - 100% kid friendly and totally DISNEY!!! Hundreds of great photo opps, we spent one evening just walking around and taking pictures of our son with all the icons, especially the Cars characters! He loved it!
Beach Club Villas - 9/2-9/6 - we had our luggage transferred from the other resort, went to HS for the day and headed to BC by boat at 5PM for our ADR at Cape May. After dinner we checked into the villas. We got villa #476, a studio on the 4th floor. It was not a far walk from the lobby at all, and was pretty convenient to the bus stops, marketplace, and it took less than 5 minutes to walk from our room to Epcot! LOVED that perk!
Room - was nice, and in decent shape. The queen bed was comfortable, sofa bed ok, not great. Of the 3 hotels we stayed at, this room was probably in the least great condition (though it wasnt bad at all). Just an older style room, older carpet, furniture, etc. The view from the room was not great - a few trees, the edge of the lake, and a parking lot.
Pool - Stormalong Bay is AMAZING and worth staying there for just that. Our son thought so too we could hardly get him out of the pool! The sand bottom is awesome, and that the whole section is challow enough so I could lounge on the sand bottom and watch my little one run and play. He loved playing in the sand too. We spent tons of time at the pool in our 4 days there, including an entire no-park day we spent most of in the pool! Hurricane Hannas is closed but they had a temporary pool bar (good enough for me - frozen poolside drinks!
). The pool was also (very surprisingly) never crowded! There was one afternoon we were one of 3 families in the sand bottom area at all! There were tons of available chairs and the pool was never crowded at all, it was like a private lagoon!
Dining - Marketplace is small with few choices, but the flatbreads are good. Cape May cafe we ate for breakfast & dinner and both meals were very good, though if you dont like seafood (like DH) you may find that dinner lacks options.
Bus Service - was remarkably good, despite reading reports of poor bus service here and the resort sharing buses with 4 other resorts. We never waited more than a few minutes for a bus, and we also never experienced sharing buses with more than just the Yacht Club.
The resort - is very nice and peaceful. Loved it and cant wait to go back.
Kidani Village - Have stayed here twice before. Asked to be facing the Sunset Savana, and near the lobby. They gave us 7406, excellent view and 3 rooms from the elevator
. Saw lots of animals! It seemed there were always zebra, giraffe, cattle, antelope, and ostriches outside our room!
Room - great shape, as always - DH said the sofa bed here was not as comfortable as the BCV. Liked the bathroom setup here better than the BCV. Never heard noise inside our room.
Pool - is nice, but nowhere near Stormalong-Bay-nice. Got pretty crowded midday.
Dining - ate at Mara only once, and was good. Ate at Sanaa Last year, not this time though.
Buses - were pretty good, only once did we wait for a bus. Long bus rides to some locations.
Resort - is amazing! Nothing like relaxing and watching the animals from your balcony!
