Just back from the HRH and I must say ...

we absolutely LOVED this hotel! :D We -- myself, my husband and our two daughters aged 13 and 16 -- went to a convention at the Grand Floridian for 3 nites and then went on to the HRH on our own for 2 nites. The GF was beautiful, a bit stuffy if you ask me and way too overpriced (glad we didn't have to pay for the room), but we all fell in love with the HRH. The staff is great. They are all young and very attentive. The pool was fantastic, although the slide was out of order. We didn't think the music was too loud as I've read some people say. As a matter of fact, we wish it had been a little louder at the pool!

FOTL is fantastic. We only did IOA and went through it in less than a day. All waits were less than 5 minutes!

I got the Loews rate at $135 and consider that quite a bargain. We definitely plan to go back to the HRH! If you have any questions about the hotel, I would be glad to answer them!

Linda-

Thanks for posting the great review. We will be at the HRH at the end of the month and we are sooo excited!

Was the water slide out of order the whole time you were there? Which room were you in and did you like the location? Sounds like the parks weren't too crowded - I was expecting FOTL to be closer to 15 or 20 minutes. How long were the regular lines? Maybe it hasn't picked up much because most kids are still in school???

Thanks!

Welcome back!

We just got back last night and HRH slide was out of order Sunday and Monday not sure if it was working today. I was very surprised the park crowds were so manageable. We never waited (except for shrek) more than 10 minutes anywhere.

The water slide was still not working yesterday morning, but should be fixed soon. We were told a pump needed to be fixed/replaced. We were in room 3126 overlooking the pool. It was quite a ways down the hall which meant it got cleaned sooner than later. The third floor is also the lobby floor where the Velvet Lounge and the store are located. I thought it was a good location. They were originally going to put us in another room (maybe because we had the Loews card?), but moved us down a floor because we had been waiting for our room for quite a while. We got there around 11:30 am after leaving the GF which was pretty early.

The regular lines weren't all that bad. The longest were for Spiderman and Hulk which were probably up to 45 minutes at times. But the FOTL is GREAT!

You will love this hotel!

We leave on friday the 13th (oooh scary) I am getting so excited from all the great trip reports about the HRH. Not sure I'll be to into my job tomorrow. We will arive around 3pm I wonder how long check-in lines will be at this time of the day. My son & his cousin will be ready to hit the pool after our flight. If you have anything thats a great tip I'd ;ove to hear about them.

If you have the Loews card, I believe there is a separate check-in (which I did not know about). It is located just to the left of the regular check-in. If your room is not ready and you want to use the pool, store your luggage with the bellman, make sure you pack your swimsuits separately, and take advantage of the workout locker room which is located right near the pool. You can put your clothes in a locker and enjoy the pool while waiting for your room. We did the same thing the morning we left. Our flight wasn't until 2:45 so we spent the morning at the pool.

There are different activities by the pool every day for kids. On Sunday, they do tie-dye shirts ($8 each). My two teenage girls enjoyed that.

Have a great time!
