Well, I finally fulfilled my long-standing desire to vacation at a dude ranch and it was great!

We went trail riding twice a day, swam, played lots of water polo, rode the banana boat, and played mini golf. My 12 year old learn to shoot (laser rifles) like Annie Oakley and my 8 year old learned to water ski. Rock wall climbing was also a hit.

Now I need a rest to recover from the vacation! It was active, but lots of fun.

Everyone hopes to go back some time, even DH who is not a horse lover. I'd be happy to answer any questions if anyone is considering such a trip.

Our PC (PTA) is thinking of doing a ski trip or dude ranch weekend next year.

Is there a web site you can share? Our kids will be in the 6th and 7th grades.

The one we went to was Rocking Horse Ranch in Highland. We met a few people from New York City who were up for the weekend.

The website is www.rhranch.com

My daughter is going into 7th grade in the fall, and she wasn't bored for a minute - a pretty good accomplishment for that age!
