My husband and I just came back from our week at WDW.
All I can say is wow! We really liked AKL. We enjoyed watching the animals, the cast members were very nice. Loved Boma's and then taking a stroll after dinner. Our room was clean and mousekeeping was very good.
NOW..... let me tell you about our move over to the Yacht club. ( we had it planned that we would stay two nights at AKL and then 5 at YC) When we got there to check in we saw that there was work being done in the front of the building. We had standard view rooms so we asked if we could have a room that didn't have work being done right out the window. We told her becauseit was our anniversary and we would just like it to be nice. She upgraded us to a water view and sent up ballons and a card with a picture of the Fab Five and their autographs. Too cute.
Our room was FANTASTIC!!!!!! great view, pillow top mattress, nice and roomy and we loved the decor. Also great balcony. Mousekeeping did a GREAT job every day and even left us a towell animal one day!!! We were completely spoiled there.
We did not notice the work being done on Storm a long bay so it couldn't have been too bad. Now we didn't go swimming but we did walk down there.
Each and every cast member was very friendly. EVERY SINGLE ONE we came in contact with said hello and was very friendly.

We are already talking about going back here next year.

If anyone has any questions I would be happy to answer them.:) When I get around to it I am going to post a trip report. Also the Christmas decorations were up and were wonderful.

Hi Mrs J - Did AKL have pillowtop mattress too or just YC? Glad you had a great time! And, thanks for the post. :D

Those are our two favorite resorts. If we do a split stay, those are the two we stay at. Glad you had such a great time.

Thanks so much for the good report! We are headed to AKL and the YC in just 7 days. We will be spending 3 nights in each resort. I'm so glad to hear that both were nice. We've never stayed at AKL and we were hoping we wouldn't be disappointed - sounds like they are very compatable resorts.

You will love both resorts. We just loved YC more. We really enjoyed the water view and thought that the services there were top notch.
Boma's at AKL was great. While we waited for our PS time we just walked around and took it all in there. i thought they had a very nice gift shop also. The bus service was great!!!! I will say that AKL transportation was very easy since they do not make any other stops. I loved that!!! Have fun when you go. I know we did !!!!:bounce:

I have to say that YC is definitely our favorite-also seems to be the hardest resort to book for our time frames.
Again, next spring we wanted YC but are staying BC because there was nothing available at YC.

Thanks for the report! We will be staying at YC for 3 nights this next trip and are very excited to check it out!!

:sunny:

We just returned from our first stay at BC, and one morning we walked over to YC so my DH could see the lobby. That was it! He really "connected" with the YC, and enjoyed talking with the nice British gentleman who was the 'greeter". Of course, I can't remember his name. Guess our next stay is YC, even though they never seem to have any discounts.

We were able to get a code in the mail for the YC (and AKL) The best surprise was the upgrade to water view.
We went and checked out other resorts. We just felt the Yacht club was us!!
By the way the boat service was excellent. We never waited more than a few minutes for a boat. Some of the drivers were quite funny. There was not one person in that resort who was not friendly!! The restaurants were wonderful. I could go on and on!!!! These people go way out of their way to make sure you are happy!!!!
We also chatted with the british man. He was very nice and took our picture in front of the Christmas tree.
:)

oh and if you didnt know this. The Yacht Club's stormalong bay closes at 8 pm each night. but on the other end of the resort near the tennis courts you will find a smaller quiet pool and a hot tub that are open 24/7. There are laundry facilities and restrooms nearby as well. And let me just say that after walking all day at the parks there is nothing like a quiet ,late night,15 minute soak in that hot tub OH YEAH BABY! :sunny: :wave2:

Great trip report. I'm so glad to hear you had a wonderful time and had positive interaction with all cast members!
