Just Back From POR........

& LOVED it!!! What a beautiful resort! I faxed a building request and got exactly what I asked for (plus a lagoon view!) Our room was clean and mousekeeping was great! I was so nervous about staying here but am soo glad we did. We will definitely return to this beautiful resort! I'll be glad to answer any questions about POR or our trip in general!!

Were there any issue with rehab or has it not made it over to Riverside yet?

There was no sign of rehabbing when we were there (just the usual signs with "fresh paint" on a few areas). I heard that POR will be closed for 2 years (like POFQ) for rehabbing but not sure when.

we just stayed at POR last week...

Our boat captain to DTD told us that POFQ rehab had changed from 2 years to 4 months due to increased hotel occupancy.

So look for POFQ to be open by Christmas!

I love POR that is my choice resort. The grounds are so beautiful. Glad that you enjoyed it also. Just hope they dont start rehab POR...staying there in May of 04.

Glad to hear you had a great time. Our family really loves it there and DS requested in Dec while we were at WL that our next trip we stay at POR again. So that's where we will be in a week.

I'll try to find out about the refurb.

We adored POR but the rooms could have done with a little makover - (new carpets and comforters). We have booked again for next April. I wonder if they close it for Rehab if we will be moved to POFQ or offfered an upgrade

What building did you stay in?? We satyed in AB 14 last Sept. but are going to try thr Mansions this Dec.

We also love this resort and can't understand all the negative comments on this board concerning POR.

We stayed in Magnolia Terrace in Magnolia Bend, Room 8570. It was a first floor room near the gazebo and a view of the Sassagoula River. Our carpeting looked new and the spreads new as well. We stayed at the All Star Sports 3 years after they opened and our room there was already in need of updating. Although this resort has been around awhile, it still looks pretty good for its age--I think it will be even better after the rehab. IMHO, POR has the look and feel of a Deluxe resort with Moderate pricing.
