Just back from POR and loved it!

We just got back from POR and loved it. It is our favorite resort. The only complaint we had about our room which was AB 2736 was it was kinda far from a parking lot to drag our stuff to the room. It was a great room though. Building 27 is quiet and close to Ol' man island and food court. Room 2736 is a second story corner room.

Hi! Glad to hear you had a great time and that you loved the POR resort. My dh and I will be staying there next year (just the 2 of us, we will be celebrating our 25th anniv.) and I have requested bldg. 27 also. I'm getting a king room, I would also like a river view but it's really not that important, 2nd floor corner if possible! Am I asking a little too much , but it can't hurt to ask, right? Anyway, was your room a river view or did it have a king bed? Does the corner rooms have 2 windows? Do you know of any such room in that bldg. that might have what I am requesting? I like the pictures I saw of AB rooms that are on the 2nd floor with lots of shade around the bldg. I just don't know what bldg.'s the pictures were of. Looking at the map of POR I feel that #27 seems very convienient and even a little bit more secluded than some of the other Bayou bldg's. I was also thinking of splitting our stay b/c we will be staying for 10 nights or do you think it's worth it to stay at POR the entire 10 nights? Thanks Cindi

We're staying at POR for the 1st time in July. First question - were they running the campfire program at that time? How was the bus transportation - did you have any problems. Did you eat at Boatwrights - how was it? Glad to hear you had a great time. Can't wait until it's our turn. I requested waterview, 1st floor, bldgs. 14, 15 or 18. Would love to have a corner room but we'll see how we do. We're checking in at 6:30 am so I'm hopeful that we'll get at least most of our request.

Glad to hear you loved POR. This was the first Disney resort I stayed at, and I still have a soft spot in my heart for it. I'll be staying there in October with my mom and DS's and I can't wait!!

We just got back from a 9 day stay there last week. I'm already planning on staying there for our next trip. I miss it!

All the 2nd story corner rooms in building 27 had two windows. Ours was not a riverview but was very shady. You could get a river view in building 27 and a corner room but it would be around the front of the building and we were in the back. I requested building 27, non-smoking, 2nd story corner room and got all my requests. So I guess you could ask. I also had to have a trundle because of 5 people in the room so mine did not have a king bed.

The campfire program was not running the week we were there. We did use the ferry boat to PO French quarter to swim and to Downtown Disney and loved the boat.

We ate breakfast at Boatwrights and had the bannana stuffed french toast. Very good but huge portion so I would next time split the order of french toast and get like bacon or something because the toast was sooooo sweet. The dinner menu looked good. We did have their little pizza's in the food court and they were good.

One of our favorite treats was Beignets(sp.) at PO French quarter. They were awesome and messy!

We could have stayed at POR for 10 days and loved it. Building 27 is more secluded then 14 or 18. Very quiet building.

Great trip reports.

As you can see from our signature line...POR is our "summer home away from home." PERIOD!!!!!!!!

We love everything about this resort. Last August we stayed in AB #27. We had a corner room...#2764. It was a river view.

Many times we walked past a room that we thought was the BEST. It was a river view and the view was of the marina and wagon / water wheel.

Well, yesterday i was rumaging thru some photos and sure enough...i took a picture of DW standing on the second floor walkway next to the railing with the Marina in the background.....the room is #2757.

In 2002 we stayed in the Mansion section and had water view room..#9239..corner room and it was STUNNING.

As far as I know...all corner rooms have 2 windows. Gives it a more "roomier" feel.

Also, make sure to take the boat to DTD and see Bob in the River Roost.

As far as the buses go..i am hearing reports now that POFQ is open the POR buses are packed.

We stayed in 27 at the beginning of June. I think it is a great location. Food court was good and the pool was fun. I wish we could have done more there. We had dinner at Boatwrights and it was very good. You have to check out the guy who entertains in the lounge in the evenings. It's a great family activity.

I was at POR for the first time in May. I loved everything except transporation. I was at the 3rd stop at POR after they stop at POFQ. Early entry morning for MK, it was 45 minutes between buses( they had filled up and the next bus just started at POFQ again and filled up before it got to us again) Also, buses seemed very far spaced in general. I noticed that many people get on the the first pickup spot so that they would make the bus.

That said, I stayed in bldg 38. Very nice location. CLose to 2 quiet and the main pools. Not a bad walk to the bus stop and it was very quiet in that area. FInally figured out the different colored paths mean different things half way through the trip and then it was very easy to get around. Overall, nice resort, but needs beeter bussing
