Just back from POLY...review inside...a couple's perspective

Hubby and I just got back very late last night....we were there from 8/30-9/30...and did free dining...let me preface this by saying we originally booked the Grand Floridian, but I changed our ressies about 2 months ago when I discovered the the GF Cafe was strictly character dining for this time period and citricos and narcoosees required 2 TS coupons.

FOOD: We ate at the Kona Cafe TWICE and Ohana once. Ok, so Kona Cafe and Ohana were absolutely insanely loud and busy....not romantic....at all.....very rushed service....GOOD service, but definitely rushed. We had the Free Dining plan with our room...so I knew it would be busier than normal....the food at kona cafe was OK...nothing spectacular....typical food you would find at an upscale chain restaurant (Bonefish Grill, PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory)....Ohana was a wonderful meal...for an all you can eat feast it was delicious....and very entertaining!

ROOM: the room was fine...very nice and clean.....

POOL: pool was great....love the pool bar....never had trouble finding somewhere to sit.

DINING PLAN: overall, as a couple, we found the dining plan very restrictive. I felt the restaurants which are 1 TS were very kid friendly....and not romantic.

if we ever go back....I would NOT go during free dining and i would NOT use the dining plan...I would seek out quieter restaurants for adults.....and I would probably stay at the Grand Floridian if it was just the 2 of us.

I don't have any questions, I just want to say it's good that you liked you're room and that the pool was great. Since my parents and I are staying at the Polynesian in December I enjoy reading when others have a good stay there.
