Hi,

Just returned from 21 nights at POFQ and have to say I really enjoyed the resort.

We checked in at around 7pm Friday 14th, there was no queue and we were checked in in around 15 minutes.

We got a room in Building 6 which I thought may be a little far out, but it was only about a 3 minute walk to the food court. It was quiet and we had a nice view of a courtyard.

The whole resort was quite quiet, the only time we realised how full it really was was when we ate breakfast at the foodcourt at 8am, apart from that it really didn't seem busy at all.

We were quite close to Riverside so walked over there for dinner a few times and thats a very beautiful resort, I just love the look of the Mansions.

However I don't think I would stay at Riverside because of the buses. We always had crazy good luck with buses, never waiting more than 10 minutes and being the first pick up and drop off was fantastic. When we went to Riverside there was always tons of people waiting and we heard quite a few complaining that they'd waited over 40 minutes for a bus. That's just my perception from staying at FQ, the bus situation at Riverside may have been better than it looked.

Happy to answer any questions.

Wow....21 nights! Glad you enjoyed your vacation. I"ve only stayed at POFQ for a few nights at a time but really enjoyed that resort, esp. the fact that the grounds are smaller than the other moderate resorts and agree with your assessment of the bus situation- it's nice to have first pick-up at POFQ and first drop-off too.---Kathy

21 days! That awesome!!

I would complain about 40 bus waits as well.

We recently returned from POFQ but didn't have the same luck. We were more crowded at closing with the queues being packed with people. It was nice being first on and off but that didn't help us leaving the parks.

I'm a little confused as to why you wouldn't stay at POFQ again. You said you really enjoyed the resort and that you had great bus service, not waiting more than 10 minutes. But you would not return because of the buses? I'm considering POFQ for my next trip, mainly because of the positive reviews and the better bus service. I know you heard people complaining about waiting at POR, but what makes you scratch POFQ off your list if everything was good :confused3

We didn't leave the park at closing two many times but even then it didn't seem too bad to me. When we left the Epcot EMH at 11:30 the queue was absolutely massive compared to other queues and I honestly thought we were going to be there an hour. But they sent three buses at once and we were on a bus within 15 mins. At MK closing there always seemed to be a huge queue for riverside but a small queue for FQ.

However we did just seem to be really lucky with the buses. Often one pulled in just as we got to the stop, or the stop would be packed with people but all waiting for a different park. On our first morning there was loads of people at the bus stop, and an AK bus pulled up and only us and one other couple got on! It was just weird like that the whole trip.

Sorry I think my post was confusing, I would definetly stay at POFQ again, I wouldn't stay at Riverside because to me it looked like the bus situation was bad over there.

We stayed at POFQ(first time staying onsite) from 8-27 to 9-4 LOVED the resort, have mixed feelings about the buses, anyway I have a question How were the crowds in the parks?? For our dates it was PACKED, compaired to what we are used to from when we have been previous yrs(mid sept) I was planning on 9/20-28th for 2008, I am hoping for less crowds, we are spoiled from having most of the rides be walk ons in the past.

Sorry, my bad! You were clear, I just didn't look at it clearly! It's POR you wouldn't stay at. ;)

Happy to answer any questions.

I just got back today from a week at Riverside and I just wanted to say that we never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus. Usually the bus we wanted pulled up in two or three minutes. The one time we waited 10 minutes we were headed to the MK and someone at the stop told us the bus for MK pulled out right before we got there. Still the wait was not bad at all. We also waited 10 min to head back to the resort from TL. We had to stand only a few times. I had heard a lot of bad reviews of the Riverside busses so I was nervous prior to our trip, but we were very pleasantly surprised.

The crowds were definetly managable but it varied from day to day. We went to Animal Kingdom on the 20th and it was absolutely packed, safari wait was at 50 minutes by 9:25 and out of fastpasses by lunch time. The same week we went to Magic Kingdom and although there were a lot of people around Space mountain never got above a 10 minute wait.

Overall it definetely seemed more crowded than the same period in 2005 but in the early morning we were able to walk on to a lot of rides with the exception of the headliners at EPCOT, MGM and AK. The only time I would describe a park as deserted was this past thursday, it was raining really hard all morning and at 9:30 there was literally no one in tomorrowland, all the rides there were walk ons and Stitch was just standing by himself, as there was no one there to take a picture with!
