TRIP
DH39, DW38, DD8 & DD4 went from Aug 25 to Sep 01.
LODGING
We stayed at PO French Quarter for 1 night. The resort was really nice. We were in building 3 and I thought it was a good location. I loved the ragtime jazz that they played. I liked everything about the resort and would go back. We took the boat to PO Riverside for lunch but I was glad we picked the FQ to stay. We have previously stayed at the Caribbean Beach (moderate) and preferred the POF.
We then stayed at the Beach Club Villas for 5 nights. We had a studio in a great location (260). The resort was great and there was a lot to do. We spent a lot of time there. We swam in SAB and the villa pool. We did the beach campfire and watched the movies. The kids played with Lilo and Stitch in the lobby in the afternoons and made towel animals. They did a lot of pin trading with the CMs. The kids did the albatross cruise and had fun. The CMs were great. We have previously stayed at the VWL (deluxe villa) and preferred the BCV.
We then stayed at All Star Movies for our last night. It wasn't that good. We stayed in Fantasia. I would have preferred to stay in Toy Story, but we probably wont go back. We have previously stayed at POP and All Star Music (value) and preferred POP.
CS DINING
POF food court. The food was good. We ate the beignets, but we have had them from Café Du Monde and there is no comparison.
POR food court. We liked this and thought the food was good.
Hurricane Hannahs was just ok. We ate here 3 times out of convenience but were getting pretty sick of it.
The gelato from the Beach Club Marketplace was great. We ate chocolate, mango, almond and something else. The chocolate was the best.
Boardwalk Bakery. The Panini was good. They were big. They were better toasted. The turkey was better than the ham. But the best things were the desserts. The brownie cheesecake was delicious.
All Star Movies food court. The food was okay. Nothing special. However we could get hot fudge sundaes with choc mint ice cream for 1 snack credit and it was great!
TS DINING
We ordered Room Service from the Beach Club. Since it takes 2 TS credits we just ordered one adult meal and one kids meal and split them. The adults had the crab cakes and filet and white chocolate cheesecake. The kids had soup, chicken strips and pirate punch. There was plenty of food and it was excellent.
We ate at Boma and really liked it. I tried all kinds of different things.
We went to the Crystal Palace for dinner. I especially liked the prime rib and the salmon. The kids loved the sundae bar.
The next day we went to Kona for dinner. I thought this was our best meal. I loved the bread. My filet was excellent. Food, service and atmosphere were all good. We ate at 5 oclock and the place was getting busier and noisier when we left.
Our last TS was at Wolfgang Puck Café. I was looking forward to this meal but was disappointed. We had a nice table at the back overlooking the lake but the restaurant is so noisy! It is also very cold. We went outside during the meal to warm up. I had the quesadilla and the pumpkin ravioli. I didnt enjoy either of them. I tried my DHs Asian spring rolls and Mahi Mahi and they were good. The kids pasta was better than the kids pizza. The only thing I really liked was the crème brulee at the end of my meal.
PIRATE AND PRINCESS PARTY
We went to the party on Aug 28 and thought it was great. We had no waits for rides. We saw the fireworks and the late parade. We seemed to always miss the character meet n greets. The kids loved going to the treasure spots. We got there at 4 and left at 12.
OVERALL
We had a lot of fun this vacation. It was very hot and humid. When you go inside, the a/c is very cold. So you go from one extreme to the other. But it was fine. We spent a lot of time in the pool and very little time in the park.
